COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double bock beer produced using high quality 100% malted barley, giving it a rich sweet taste and an intense fragrance of roasted malt. The amber colour that characterizes the beer, comes from kind of malt used in the recipe (malt is dried, roasted barley). Another key ingredients is hops, the variety used is particularly aromatic, giving a characteristic bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance to the beer. The Master Brewers advise a service temperature between 10° and 12° C.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2012 Bottle. The pour was a clear medium/dark brown with an average sized (1-2 finger) off white frothy head that was fully diminishing and had very poor lacing. The aroma was of a roasted caramel malts, a mild resin hop and a doughy yeast with notes of caramel, molasses and dark fruit. The taste was mildly bitter-sweet with a hint of caramel from the onset and matured into this bitter acidic taste with just a hint of dark fruit and had a mild alcohol finish. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow with a nice fruity alcohol taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouth feel was medium in body and oily-yet dry in texture with a lively carbonation. Overall a nice fruity Doppelbock with a good alcohol warming at the end...

Not very aromatic but a pleasant pour appearance and a mild appealing flavor. I don’t get a bitter aftertaste as described here...I experience a lovely, light sweetness which I find to be extremely enjoyable and easy drinking. The carbonation level is near perfect to my preference also. Low volume, fast dissipating head with little to no lacing. Nice rusty brownish red color.

Bottle from an Italian restaurant in Celebration, Florida. Deep amber with a clean malty taste, and a surprisingly good example of the style.

Fat. Rödbrun med ett stort smutsvitt skum. Dofter av karamell, nöt och brunt socker. Smakinslag av karamell, nöt, bränt socker och malt. Det brända sockret känns i avslutningen. Medelstor kropp.
