Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Bottle: Pale golden color, very few aroma. Light sweetness with corn and lemonade notes. Light sweet malty, light bitter flavor. Light dry, few bitter end. Not too bad.

Had this in Florence Italy. This beer is very sweet. Pours a golden color, with a white head. This beer is very light and smooth, and drinks easy. Not a beer I’d come back to, but I can’t argue, its better then budweiser.

Bottle in New York restaurant. I had asked for a "darker and more filling ale" and was given this. Well, you can’t fault the beer - only the waiter. The beer has a fresh, grassy aroma. It has a golden colour, is clear with white head and has a restrained amount of carbonation. The taste is light and fairly fresh with some sweet maltiness and a fair amount of hop-bitterness. The aftertaste is bitter and fairly long-lasting and has a slight metallic feel to it. Despite the ridiculous advice I was given I found this Euro lager above average and it almost reminded me of a Czech pilsner.

This was enjoyed at a resturant in the Chicago area. The color was of straw and the head was about a finger and a half. The taste was a typical lager with some bitterness. It was refreshing and went well with pasta and shrimp.

Bottle (from Tesco, BB Jun 07). Pale with fairly thick head. Light lagery malts, sweet cereal and suggestion of grassy hops. Sweet with minimal bitterness and quite thin. This is certainly not a good beer but it does suprisingly well when wanting mindless alcoholic refreshment in hot weather.

light yellow color, white thick foamy head. aroma is refined sugar and dried grass. flavor is also dried grass, refined sugar, and a little hop bitterness in the finish. light to watery but not too bad for the awful world of light lagers. it went better with food.

First had this at Macaroni’s, while waiting for seating. Chose it over the popular local (Yuengling) and regretted it. Low aroma and overall watered down (including somewhat skunky) taste. A second tasting on another occasion proved equally disappointing. Sure, take it over Budweiser, but even Heineken and Fosters can beat this. And, if you’re out eating Italian, opt for a glass or bottle of wine instead.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2006 From my notes, March ’05. Pale gold color with a small white head. Grainy, bittersweet aroma. Tastes bitter, nothing else challenging the bitter flavor. A bit metallic too, like nickel. Dry crisp finish. Not a thing to get again.

Poured from the bottle, a pale yellow (aka BuckeyeBoy’s "pee colour") with an unappealing frothy white head. A very strong metallic aroma - maybe a hint of lemon. A strong sharp metallic taste as well along with a fizzy mouthfeel. Absolutely terrible.

This poured a pale golden colour with a medium sized fluffy but thick white head that went away at a medium pace. The nose is bad... Bad dusty malt with some weak skunkiness...ugh. The taste is watery, so smooth I guess, some ok maltiness, but the big (for a macro pale lager) but crude hopiness dominates the end and the (long) aftertaste. Could be worse, but still far from good.
