Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Nothing special about this beer, biter bite and unimpressive balance. Disappointing, I need some Italians to represent!

Burnt Beer Night: Amber color with no head. Grainy, watery, and starting to turn rancid. Too many off flavors made this undrinkable.

Pours clear gold. Aroma was weak, a little malt. Flavor was bland with good balance but not much there. Nothing bad about this beer, except the total lack of anything special.

Pour striat up yellow, not much for head but decent lacing. A very little Euro lager or Pils, hard to tell, good balance or malts and hops. Decent beer, for beer.

Burnt Beer Night: Light Gold Coloring. Small White Head. Some Grain...Maybe Hay... Really Pretty Watery and Not Very Goodly as my Mechanic Would Say.. Just Say No To Bad Beer.

Very light malt, grainy aroma with a faint floral hop backing. Pours yellow/gold with a small white fast falling head. Taste is light and dry/straw-like with a decent bitterness toward the end. Eh, its a run of the mill lager, not much else to be said.

What’s worse than your typical run of the mill premium lager? How about a premium lager from Italy! Ick!

Sampled at Charlotte Oktoberfest ’04. It’s definitely better than Peroni, but that doesn’t exactly say a whole lot.

Golden with a disappearing white head, this is pretty blah. There’s some weet maltiness in both aroma and taste, but a lot of water in the latter.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2009 Let’s face it. Italians are best known for two things: pasta and wine. Who knew they could brew a decent beer, too? A very pleasant surprise indeed. Nice balance of grassy hops and a slight malt backbone with minimal cory syrup intrusion. Salutore!
