COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Pours a very pale gold with a 1 finger creamy white head that fades to a skim pretty quickly. Aroma is sweet grass, hay, light toasted grain, herbal and light mineral notes. Flavor is lightly sweet malt, dry grass, straw, dusty grain with a light mineral, lightly bitter finish that has just a hint of metal at the very end. Palate is light bodied, slightly slick on entry and dryish finish. This is a pretty good pale lager, not the most interesting, but does it’s job well a a fairly tasty quencher.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2010 Draft, in Napoli. Slightly darker than pale with a nice lasting inch of meringue. Aroma of dry grass and sweet malt. Flavor is the same with a crisp finish. Light-medium and watery, easy drinker.

[bottle] Sweet base malt and hay in the nose--surprisingly no skunk, despite the green bottle. Clear, dark straw with a thin white cover that fades. Crisp pilsner malt flavour with gentle hay hops and moderate bitterness. Weak, but not watery. Light body, moderate carbonation, clean finish. If this beer were brewed in Germany, it would probably get higher ratings. A solid Classic German Pils.

Bottle. Pours pale golden with a foaming white head. Aroma is slightly sweet, a little metallic, mildly malty. Flavor is mild, both in hops and malt. I definitely taste a bit of corn. Pretty typical macro lager, but a bit better than American ones.

(can, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a blond massive foamy head. Sweet and slightly corny malty nose with a touch of grassy and metallic hops. Sweet and harsh bitter-tart flavour, light bodied with a lively, slightly fizzy carbonation. Bland pale malty, slightly corny taste with a harsh bitter tart metallic finish. 28.I.10

Nothing great...rather bland. I’d rather have it than most domestic lagers, though. Good for an evening when you want something light.
