COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Very light color, golden with brown tints. The flavor is light and so is the aroma. Not much really is going on. Drink if in Italy, sample if in the states.

This is exactly what you expect, really. A typical thirst-quenching lager with a bit more flavour than average.

0.66 l bottle from a little shop in Livorno. Pale golden colour, average/soft carbonation, quickly collapseing head. Grainy, light-sourish smell, sweetish taste, watery/thin body. Flavour’s light-spicy, grainy with some hops in the back, finish is light bitter and leaves quickly away. For me, just a better kind of a thirstquencher for hot days, but the label’s nice, I like it...:)

Great Beer. Fantastic actually. Its a keeper label too. Nice to see that there are other good beers out there other than micro brews. 1859 must have been a good year for discovering beer.

355ml bottle. This is the first Italian beer I have sampled. Pours a standard pale straw colour with a short head even with agitation. A wee bit of spice on the nose. On the mouthful I find it hard to differentiate Birra Moretti from Kronenbourg 1664. Light in body for a Euro a barely noticeable coffee bitter aftertaste. Could easily be a session pale lager . I would rather have this with a traditional thin crust pizza then a red wine.
