COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Bottle. Pale golden body. Small white head. Hardly any aroma at all. A light light hoppiness. Light and mild flavour. Fresh hops, hints of citrus. Light bitter finish. (La Caffettiezo Piazza Di Pietra, Roma, 02.10.09)

bottle, (which I like!), golden colour with white unstable head. Smell: malty and a bit skunky. Taste: watery, yeasty, grainy. Far too watery beer but drinkable. Nothing more.

Bottle, 66 cl. Blonde-golden beer with bubbles, little white lacing foam. Aroma is grainy, malty, yeasty, certainly not super and a bit cheap. Taste is grainy with a light hoppy finish. Maybe a bit more fine taste and this could be a good beer.

Just had a bottle at an Italian pizza restaurant. No distinct aroma, very light and clear color. Head dissipates immideately, but maybe that was just the glass. Pretty decent beer to accompany my carpaccio pizza.

Not horrible. But I’m definitely not lovin it. What some would consider Italy’s "other" beer besides the mass produced Peroni. Nothing special about this one, a little more noble hop character and a slightly fuller finish with a touch of hop-essence...perhap extract? make this a more complex beer than the Peroni. In the end though, neither are really worth it.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2010 Second bottled Italian beer sample from the LCBO singles bin and definitely the better of the two. This one puts a golden lager in the glass with a decent 2 finger cap that has fair retention and lace. Aroma of biscuity Munich carapils over subtle noble hops. Mild character but with decent body and smooth mouth feel. Good dose of malts in front with herbal earthy Hallertau and Spalter hops riding just below the malt profile, fast clean malty finish. This is about as good as you can expect from a corporate brewer.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, light gold in color with a one finger white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is rich malt with a light spiced hop in the background. The flavor is rich maltiness that’s backed by grassy, spicy hops leaving a short, dry finish with a mild malt and bitterness. Well balanced with a light to medium body.

Golden yellow hue, very small white diminishng head, no lacing, smells like comericial mass produced brew, light, thin, minimal malt and hops, somewhat straw characteristic, regional european boring swill, Heineken a worse Stella, better than Bud but better, like the last writer said, "mediocrity," but maybe that’s all it is supposed to be
