COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Birra Moretti is a genuine beer produced using a traditional process that has remained almost unchanged since 1859. To produce Birra Moretti, only the highest quality raw materials are used and a particular mixture of valuable hops, that gives the beer its aroma and unique fragrance, intensifying the slight bitter flavour. It is a low fermented beer that has a golden colour, the tone of which is given by the quality of malt used. The alcoholic content is 4,6% volume that make it suitable to drink at any time of the day. In fact it is a perfect accompaniment to both dinner and lunch or to drink in the evening with friends.

Poured bottle into standard pint glass. Predictable straw color with medium off-white head. Crisp and bubbly, very neutral taste. A drinkable lager but nothing memorable. Pairs well with dinner at an Italian restaurant. Cooler than an American macro in that setting, I suppose.

Smells terrible like garbage. Looks like piss. It actually doesn’t taste that bad which is a plus. Everything else is pretty much crap like typical macro but worse because most macros don’t smell that bad.

Countbeer (1686) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - SEP 14, 2011
Bottle: Medium white head, that disappears slow but stays vast on the glass. Clear yellow colored beer. Smell malts, hops, sweets, caramel, light sour, barley, malts and roasted dark sweets/sugar. Taste is a bit sweeter than most other pale lagers and contains a bit more taste as well: hops, malts, caramel, barleys, hint of brown sugars and some herbs. Low to medium bitter herby aftertaste. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, low to medium body and a light creamy texture. Pretty decent pale lager.

330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear golden yellow with small white head. Aroma is grains and grassy hops. Flavour is slightly sour grains and lightish grassy hops. Light bitterness in finish. Solid... for a macro lager.

Birra Moretti is a crystal clear, straw colored beer with a white head that vanishes instantly. It has a funky aroma with a note of grass. There a very slight, soft sweetness that kind of smells like cake. It’s pretty light bodied, lively and smooth with a dry finish that leaves the mouth just a touch silty. It’s lightly flavored and just a little funky. It tastes grainy and there’s a little wooden bitterness at the finish. It’s a bit like a Czech pilsner. It’s not horrible and pretty refreshing.

Light yellow colour, regular size head. Smells sweet, wort, malty. Tastes like a regular pilsener. Active co2, easy to drink, typical pilsner.

66cl bottle. Pale golden pour. Ok white head. Inoffensive but not great. Not worth drinking a 2nd time

Can a beer get any lighter and clearer in colour than this one? I haven’t drank macro-lagers in a long long time so wow i’m shocked. There is almost no aroma besides light malts and corn. Same goes for the flavour.
