COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle from black hearts and sparrow. Pours amber with a tight, fats fading head. Strong smoke flavour, puts me in mind of a good whisky (more so than other peated beers i have had). overwhelmingly smokey, undertones of caramel sweetness. Yum!

330ml bottle from Slow Beer. Another super carbonated beer from this brewery. Holy smokes there is a lot of smoke in the aroma and even more in the flavour. It’s that that smell that gets in your clothes after you have been sitting around a campfire. Deep golden amber colour with a lush tan head. The flavour hits all parts of the mouth. This beer could be Yeastie Boys Rex Attitude’s little brother.

Bottle from BlackHearts&Sparrows. Great, intense. Aromas of smoke, caramel, hints of vanilla and butter. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with an inch of white head that fades to a lovely coat. Smoky singed toffee aroma with dried bananas. Taste is sweet and peaty with toffee, some over-ripe fruit, grass, some pepper. Started at about 8C - fruity complexities emerged but the sweetness started to grate. Still, interesting.

18/11/12 - 33cl bottle @ Horecaexpo (Gent) - BB: XII/13 (2012-1290)

Little cloudy amber beer, small off-white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit smoky, soapy, some rotten fruits, chemical, rotten banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: smoky start, pretty bitter, ripe fruits, plums, sweet touch, caramel, fudge. Aftertaste: bitter, smoky, caramel, some dried fruits, brown sugar, very peated.

Pours dark amber with a fading head. Nose shows heavy peat with almost medicinal notes to it. Also a fair bit of sweet malt hinting at golden syrup. Sweet flavours, almost syrupy sweet, but with lots of peat following. Gets a little cloying. Too much carbonation.

From bottle at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark orange with a huge, dense and off white head. Aroma is dense meaty smoked. Solid ham, bacon and bonfire smoked. Dense malty and leathery. Thick and lingering dark smoked finish.

Draught at Italian Beer Festival 2010
Cloudy orange-amber color; creamy head. Light caramel, hop and smoke aroma, very light ashes. Good caramel flavor, bottom-fermentation fruitness, the mouthfeel is quite dry in the beginning, a bit sweeter later. Correct bitterness. The beer is a correct Vienna, the smoke should be more evident.
