From the bottle stamped 11-20123-423. So I expect it is fairly fresh. The pour is slightly hazy but it is medium amber-copper with a cream colored head that fades to a ring. The aroma is malty and sweet with licorice or something that stands out a little more so than the malts. Body is thin to medium. The taste has a notable malty roasted character with little to no hops but a smooth finish. Basically fits the style.

Bottle. It pours an unclear, dark golden body and an off-white head. The aroma is rather weak, with caramel and some dried fruits. Some bitterness in the falvor, with caramel and dried fruits doing most of the work. Medium body, semi-sweet on the palate, with some bitterness notes in the end. A quite nice one, but I find it a bit too toffeeish/caramelish and it lacks a bit on depth. 130208

Palate : good, medium full bodied with longer finish.
Taste: slight smoky hints, malty , caramel with darker malts. Refined.

Bottle. Pours cloudy copper brown with a yellowish head. Delicious nutty molasses aroma with hints of raisins. Nutty caramel, dried fruit, well-balanced. Body is on the light side, though. Still a great bock it is.
