0.5l bottle #605 shared with The Tasting Crew. It is really loaded with floaters and particles swirling around in the glass. Looks fairly nice with a deep amber almost brown-red colored body that has a small quickly fading bubbly translucent and sidesticking top. The nose is actually a bit interesting with a nice deep sweetness, some woody sherry sweetness actually and it has a little bit fruitiness with hints of alcohol. It’s not super complex but still quite interesting and nice. In the taste I get a strong vanilla sweetness. Definitely not cloying, but sweet. Quite soft on the carbonation and gliding oily in the mouth. Sweet really over ripe near rotten fruits, some wet leafs and a sweet raisin/sherry sweetness in the finish. Not any real traces of the alcohol here. Actually quite alright. 09.10.2013

Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a clear copper-hued bronze body and a tiny white head. Aroma is Norwegian brown cheese, caramel, toffee, candi sugars, cider and hints of alcohol. Taste is caramel, grains, toffee, hints of nuts and alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation. Not bad, but far from outstanding in any way whatsoever.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy reddish colour with a small off-white head. Both aroma and flavour is pretty sweet with lots of caramel, wood, dried fruit and brown sugar. Has a very rich and slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A sweet and powerful ale.

Hazy red-amber color, with small frothy head. Nice aroma of malt, wood, with delicate fruitiness and brandy. Good body strength; malt flavor, medium sweet, with nice wood, mild fruitiness, hint of smoke, low carbonation, caramel; correct bitterness.
Very good.
Barley Wine almost.

Bottle from King&Godfree. Taste is sweet, nice but not very balanced. Aromas of caramel, alcohol, butterscotch, and some wood. Taste is sweet, and long lasting. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Amber, with a disappearing head.

Medium beige head. Amber body made hazy by big floaties. Fruity floral earthy aroma with vinous alcoholic herbal eucalyptus notes. Dry-sweet minty wooden earthy taste with herbal spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel, with a slight peppery heat. Dryish minty cocos vinous aftertaste with red wine notes. Impressively smooth and harmonic. Scarily drinkable. (0.5l bottle in cardboard box, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)
