Draught @ Birreria: This one poured a ruby tinged chestnut brown color. It has a bit of an off-white head that leaves a little lacing. An interesting nose. Definitely a whiff of chestnuts. Some sweet malts also. The taste is good. Body was a hair lighter than I expected. A little yeasty and bready, hints of the chestnuts, malts. Interesting and definitely worth having a second one.

Cask at Eataly Birreria NYC sept 2012. Darm brown beer with a tanned small head. Malty and sweet aroma. A bit malty and earty flavour, a bit thin beer...

Aptly chestnut brown body, topped with an airy, bubbly head providing full cover. I can’t really tease at any chestnut smells, though the aroma has some mustiness to it. Smooth body, gently bitter and with woody and tannic malty qualities. Smooth roast with perhaps a dash of chestnut.

Pours medium brown, with little to no head. Aroma has dark roasted malts, some super-nuttiness, and the flavor brings in a bit of sweetness. Malt forward, and definitely a deep brew, without being too heavy. Nice.

On draught at Birreria
Aroma gentle, slight smoke, brown sugars, malts, some honey. Solid well composed nose. 8-
Appearance hazed brown look with lighter top. 3-
Flavor and Palate : I am guessing that frontal smoky elements come from chestnuts? Mild character, smooth ,clean. If not absent tartness this brew reminded me of smoother fuller rendering of Grodziskie. Very well brewed. Simply solid.
