3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A soft, steady pour produces a ½-finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a pale amber / gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, full gold color when held up to the light. The aroma smells of light, not quite faint, lactic acid, funky phenolics & musk, perhaps a hint of citrus, lots of dried-grass / hay like graininess, a touch of medicinal notes.
Nicely tart tasting, it manages to have a bite without being overly sour. There is a spicy, bitter, sort of herbal bite to the finish that melds with a rounded, pale malt and grassy grain character. There is a certain lemon like character to the acidity towards the finish, this seems like a departure from a typical Lambic contribution. Light bodied and quaffable, but it has a soft creamy texture to it, despite having some prickly effervescence; light but with some palate presence. Earthy spice notes mix with hay / straw like grain notes to produce something that I imagine to be a dried field of weeds / wildflowers. Hints of medicinal notes (both herbal and Lambic in character), some lightly musky notes, and a definite mustiness come out more as the beer warms up.
A really nice blend of Saison and Lambic; this plays out as such as well, with noticeable components of each; I like the soft herbal affects, and the Lambic notes certainly bring a lot to the profile of this beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle picked up in California. The beer pours to a glowing amber body with a tall creamy white head and sexy lacing. The aroma is like an unblended lambic or gueuze. Very subtle. Light floral hops. The flavor is very Belgian. Lots of gueuze/unblended like components. Subtle spices. Floral hops. The palate is medium light bodied and super easy drinking.

12/1/12. 750mL bottle with HUGE thanks to nulledge! Hazy dark golden pour with particulates and a frothy off-white head that fades but laces plenty. Nice funky aroma with sweet cherry and spices like the krieks I’ve had, oddly. Nicely complex flavor with more of that spiced cherry aspect and a nice funkiness. Delish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Blake and Jenny for sharing! Poured milky golden with a dense yellowy-beige head. The aroma was very sour with funk and oak over pale and bready malts.. odd herbs and perhaps chestnuts accented.. lots of dry oak on the back of the nose. The flavor found tart lemon rind, oak, and fruit skins throughout.. floral notes, more funk, and white pepper around.. finished with sourness, funk, and fruit skins. Sour and funky as mentioned on the palate.. dry and a little metallic at times.. just OK transitions through the mouth. Very interesting brew.

Cloudy golden color with small head. Interesting aroma, both tart and fruity, with classic pungent cellar notes typical of Drie Fontainen and lemony fruitiness. Highly carbonated, with strong Bretts, but smooth overall; strong citrusy and strong cellar character too.
