Draft. Golden yellow color with a white head. Soft peat aroma. Mild sourness leads to a big peat flavor. Works really well. I drink a lot of scotch and I absolutely hate peat in my whiskey, but this is good.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle to glass. Cloudy amber in color with a thin head. Aroma is smoky, meaty, burnt rubber?, and a very slight sour brett. The brett sour shines through in the flavor with a continued hint of smoked meats. Lighter in body with a lingering sour and smoky finish. Wasnít so sure with the first sip, but definitely grew on me by the end. Extremely unique beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a rich raw sienna color with a finger of eggshell foam. I believe it takes a rare breed of drinkers to enjoy a smoked peat sour beer... but I believe I am a direct descendant of this breed. There is something about the contrasted balance of smokey, campfire notes that mingle with sour cider, wood roasted pear and touches of bourbon, earthy leather, doughy malt backbone... it just intrigues my palate and pairs amazing with rich simple foods such as the salmon avocado sushi I ate with this. Im quite in love with the crazy umami character that happens in this beer and it was only heightened when I included a touch of ohsawa nama shoyu sauce DAMN !

A hazed amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, strange yet nice mix of peated malt with grassy Brett and lactic notes, faint rubber, interesting. In mouth, a nice sour ale with good peatyness, lactic acid, fruity esters, surprisingly good. On tap at TÝrst.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap@Birch - Benís personal recommendation. Pours hazy amber, small of white head, little lacing. Aroma is peat, scotch - odd but interesting. Flavor is the same, light sweet, smoky, meaty, a bit of oak, caramel. Light body, flat carbonation. This is an odd one, but it kind of works.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - 750mL crowned. Muddy amber with a short white head. Strong iodine/peat in the nose with a random funkiness poking its head out every now and then. Also hints of tart fruit and toasted grains as well. Rather odd. Taste is also odd - large iodine/peat notes, funky yeast, earthy notes, tart fruit and soft malt. Body is light-medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation and lingering peat notes throughout. Finishes with iodine, earthy notes, funky yeast tart fruit and soft grains. At times there is an odd lingering aftertaste like sucking on a coin. Not sure why I keep buying these goofy Italian beers. They are almost never worth it. Decent beer, but for $23 I was expecting a whole lot more.
