courtesy of travlr, thanks for the share.
’08 bottle, holy gusher Krampus.
pours orange, off-white head with decent floating yeasty elements.
aroma, plenty of xmas spices, yeast, fruit, anise and what seems to be priming sugar.
flavors, all spices, yeasty, malty clove, anise, lingering matly/yeasty mouthfeel with carbonation that is a tad on the high side, light spicy back mouthfeel. Get some brown sugar mixed in between the whole spicy palate.

750 ml leaking bottle. Gusher. Pours murky brown, thick, foamy tan head. Aroma of spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, others, and alcohol. Taste is smooth, silky, medium spice, slight sourness probably a bit of brett. Nice enough, considering the leak.

Beautiful 750mL bottles, the Italians know how to do it up right. The beer rises up the neck after popping, but no gushing, very manageable. Thus, it pours with a beautiful, large, pillow-y, long lasting head. Color is a dark copper amber. Its a loud beer. The beer itself, take one part tart and wild, add a Belgian-esque yeastiness, , some cereal Belgian malts, and compound it with a vigorous carbonation. Spices, what spices, all overwhelmed by the wild/tart character. Loved to drink it, beautiful stuff, but wont pay that price tag in the future. Santa don’t come cheap in Italy.

(Old BA rate - bottle)
Poured with a frothy finger of nearly white head; vibrant burnt orange color and a little hazy. Lightly tart; spicy; bit of honey. Medicinal; flowery then honey; back to vibrant floral and spice notes. Light, though a touch syrupy; very bubbly vibrant carbonation; interesting. Nicely drinkable given the number of flavors going on, and a little spicy and warming which was pleasant. Overall, even though I had this in August, it was still a nice brew at the time. I could see where it would be preferable during the cooler months.

750ml Bottle (2008 Vintage. 7.6%ABV per the bottle): GUSHER! Aroma of yeast, light spices, light herbs, and some medicine. Poured orange/amber in color with a huge, fluffy, pillowy, creamy, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny, small, and medium-sized particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, fruit, light spices, light yeast, and some sugar. Light to medium body. Slick texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, fruit and malt finish.

Versa marrone scuro velato con una schiuma bianca. Profumo di lievito di birra belga, chiodi di garofano, e alcune altre spezie. Buon sapore, leggermente dolce.A tratti ha qualcosa della Orval,in altri dolce e acida.Interessante

Aged beer, special mixture of a christmas beer and a flemish sour. Smell is fruity and oaky, taste is well balanced between hot spices - a fruity sweetness and a delicious sour and aged note. Really nice huge head. One of the best italian beers I’ve ever had

Bottle from a ways back via trade with, hmm name is escaping me. Mostly sought this out because of the label and name. Pretty nice nose. Pours orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet and fruity and floral. Taste is sweet and bitter and not up to the snuff of the nose.

Bottle from Johnny’s, Rome.
Fruity Beligan aroma. Some acid, some fruit, spice. Brett.
Orval-like. Sweet and sour, a hint of yeast. Interesting, but not quite there, and not your average Christmas beer!
