Tasted on 3/31/14 from a capped 375mL bottle purchased at Bruisin’ Ales, this was not a cheap one. Pours a bright, almost cranberry juice colored amber, letting just a tinge of light through, with a thin tan head that slowly recedes to very thin lace before completely disappearing. The nose is a very matured sour red wine vinegar with plenty of vanilla and cinnamon oak, vinous fruity sour cherry, there is some caramel malt to this, super complex with a touch of dried fruit oxidation (this really does remind me of an Amarone). The flavor is a bit sweeter, focused on the ripe cherry, caramel malt, dried fruit, vanilla and cinnamon oak, with the red wine vinegar, and some lemon citrus sour notes providing the mid-palate and then the sweeter dried Amarone notes returning on the back of the palate. The body is nearly full with lightly faint carbonation, a lot of oaky tannin, and a long complex finish that hits all of the nutty oxidation, sour, and sweet notes from the nose and the palate.

Draught. Ruby in colour, no head. Cherries and red berries in front on low level, then very sour, acidic with lots of vinegar, very harsh. Light sweetness on start. If you like vinegar it is beer for you, if not there are better sour beers on the market.

This treat was shared by Nick - thanks! Clear ruby pour, no head. Aroma: balsamic, brown sugar, mix of both tart and maraschino cherries, oak, and leather. Taste is quite acetic; also quite sweet. Hints of soy sauce and raisin. Full body, slick texture, very little carbonation.

Gir vann i munnen. God fylde. Ingen karbonering. Deilig.
