4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Oak-aged Italian barley wine with light yellowish beige, creamy head, still quite stable in relation to the alcohol volume. Colour deep copper with orange glow, misty, somewhat darker after adding the deposit. Marvellously perfumed aroma, noticeable from a distance of a few metres, overwhelming with impressions of marmelade, port wine, candied cherries, cinnamon, pepper, wood, honey, calvados, kahlua, cranberries and liquorice. Soft taste, exotic fruits in a kind of dry sweetness, not sticky, smooth and bit granular mouthfeel, very complexely malty, turning woody and liqueurish in the end, aromatic, herbal, long hoppiness, nothing disturbing or astringent to it. To me this approaches perfection, a very memorable experience and one of the most perfect beers I ever had the pleasure to taste, but only suitable for the true barley wine afficionado, I guess.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Di colore rosso ramato con una schiuma persistente. Odora di frutta secca, toffee. In bocca è delicata, alcolica, calda, sentori di pepe e una punta di liquirizia molto intrigante. A mio avviso un’ottima birra.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden toffee colored pour. Small off-white head. Not much in the way of lacing. Big caramel aroma. Malty, raisins, little bit of butter. Taste is a malt bomb. Some vanilla. Not as warm as I thought it would be. Very dangerous.
