COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barley wine equilibrio e raffinato, maturato in acciaio e successivamente invecchiato in bottiglia.

No head on hazed red beer. Heavy fusels nose, maltsyrup, alcohol. Sugary, syrupy with some red fruit, preserved fruit, ginger or some other spice. Very slick to viscous, balance with the fusels only arrives in the palate. This beer constitutes a good base, but it really cries for a good C-hopping, for a more fruity balance, and some drinkability.

A reddish amber to brown barley wine with a thin receding mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with vinous notes, stewed plums, tea bag, light grassy qualities, quite nice. In mouth, a rich and smooth sweet treacle malt with light molasses, barley candy, British hops, warming alcohol, all well balanced and pleasing. Light soy sauce in finale. Bieropholie import.

Bottle. Deep, slightly hazy amber body, small white head. Aroma is caramel, wood, molasses, hints of syrup and cream. Lovely. Taste is the traditional hard cream-based caramel we call "knekk" in Norway; nuts, caramel, wood and hints of cream again in the back along with some red fruits. Blended to near-perfection; the smoothness of the sweet caramel tones mash seamlessly in my mouth. This is really, really good. What a pleasant surprise from Italy.

2009 Vintage (probably, it is good until 2019 – batch 349 / 09) – 33 cl wine/champagne-like bottle purchased @ Alvinne shop: opens with an ominous hiss, is this still good? – pours a hazy berry jam colour with a disappearing tanned head, at the bottom the bottle a huge chunk of white yeast sediment is clustered together, looks like a disgusting mix of plaster & mould, nasty – smell is very, very sweet, booze, fermenting berries & lots of fermenting dough mixed with candy & candy sugar – taste starts out passable but quickly gets grouse, almost sickenly sweet, fermenting dough, malts, Christmas pudding, candy, candy sugar, fruits (cherries, fermenting strawberries, peach, apricot, berries,…) mixed with paprika & touch of vomit, aftertaste feels bitter, ominous, almost rotting, booze – body is thick in disturbing way, heavy yeast, dough texture, I sincerely hope that this was infected because I cannot imagine anyone actually making and selling something like this

@ ACBF 2011. The aroma has fruitella’s, raisin maltiness. Clear, amber-brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is sweet, has candy and raisins mainly. Medium-full bodied.

Bottle at ACBF 2011. Pours ruby-brown with a faint head. Just some slight bubbles, gents. Lots of toffee in the nose, some other sweet bready malts. Pretty sweet flavor with hints of cured meats, candied fruits, mild bitterness. Full bodied with high carbonation. Warming finish, very sweet, malty, some meat and toffee, pure sugar, some toast. Rich, enjoyable brew.
