COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heavily hopped, it has aromas of grapefruit, white grape and tropical fruit. Warm and fairly bodied, bitter but balanced, complex and persistent, its palate shows its character. It finishes with balsamic and resinous notes.

After watching the trailer of the movie “Machete” 4 years before its showing, I was sold on creating a beer to honor him. Not any beer, only one could bear the weight of such a name: a Double IPA. I have always been fascinated by well brewed Double (or Imperial) IPAs. These are far from easy beers to brew. Limiting the caramel amount, achieving a good dryness, making sure that the higher alcohols are not overpowering are some of the key elements to avoid an undrinkable “sludge”. Above all, hop has to emerge over everything else, powerful and imperious.

This is an extreme beer, either loved or hated. It has no middle ways, middle ways are not for Machete. Machete doesn’t come to compromises. “Machete don’t text”.

Il nome non è casuale: all’olfatto potente, schiuma relativamente poca, colore molto aranciato, al gusto esplosiva con persistenza medio-lunga. Molto rozza, senza troppi convenevoli. Ottima

Hazy copper orange, cream head. Intense aromatic hoppiness, red orange peel, caramel. Well balanced complex taste, rich aromatic hops leading toward a bitter and fulfilling ending. A bit of biscuits and caramel notes to round it all up.

Dobre podwojne IPA. Z ogromna piana, gesta i trwala niesamowicie. Bomba chmielowa tresciwosc i rownowaga miedzy slodowoscia a wytrawnoscia chmielu. Niewiele osadu, a praktycznie wygladalo jakby go nie bylo.

Doble ipa con todas las palabras. Cerveza radical para beber despacio. Alcohol bien integrado, aroma intenso. De las mejores doble ipa que probé.

Bottled 0,33L. Amber fraught color, much hazy with a nice bubbly aspect, very resistant and during head. Excepional nose, much rich bouquet, notes of orange peel, malty, very hoppiness, cask, amber woody and much flowery final very fresh and perfumed. Alcoholic but very equilibrate taste, notes of resin, hop, very crisp and sweetish body with a pleasant bitter end. Realy pleasant beer.

Ottima!!

On tap at Barcelona Beer Festival 2013. Small Pint (20cl). Clear orange colour with a big off-white head...problems to put it inside the small glass LOL. Aroma is really intense, with lots of citrusy notes: most likely orange and tangerine though. That’s what predominates regarding taste, strong bitterness as expected, resin touch, but very well balanced. At the end you can feel some caramel, and that’s because the malt does its job. Creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation. No alcohol at all. Impressive! so glad to drink a brew like this.

750 ml bottle from Birsciòp, Lecce. Served into a pint glass. Pours a moderately hazy sunrise orange, with a persistent off-white head that leaves excellent lacing. Powerful hoppy aroma typical in every DIPA, a bouqet of tropical fruits, freshly cut grass, pine needles, some bubblegum notes and a slight hint of caramel malts. Good amount of bitterness in the mouth, lovely creamy texture, and being quite dry I consider it extremely drinkable. Medium body, correct carbonation, no trace of the achool at all, but I wasn’t expecting it being only 7.8% for a DIPA. Quite impressed!

@Mondial de la Bière 2012, Montreal - cloudy dark amber-brown beer under a persistent beige foam; a good flowery hoppiness, a good malt backbone, earthy; pretty bitter; very dry and earthy hoppy finish - very nice

Birra ottima saporita e molto molto aromatica! Non sembra quasi una 2xIPA .
