A special one time creation that truly lives up to its name. The base is a Stout brewed with hot chili peppers that has been aged for almost 2 years with blueberries & pediococcus. It is opaque black in color in with just a touch of carbonation. Quite acidic & tart along with very intense flavors and aromas. This nightmare is sure to leave a lasting memory.

Draft... This beer rocks!... Pours black with a large, creamy, lightly-tanned head that never diminishes. The aroma is a swirl of farmhouse yeast dustiness and sweet port intertwined with modest blueberry and cocoa components. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and vibrant carbonation. The flavor is oude bruin-like Ė sharp acidity flanked by fruity blueberries, cherries and hints of caramel and mocha. Itís a bit roasty, but thatís not a major element here. Finishes acutely tart and fruity. World class beer from a world class brewery!

Bottle poured at WtWBA Brooklyn 2013. Pours a deep body with light lacing. Aroma is blueberries, roast, grain and vinegar. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of sour blueberries and tart vinegar. Some grain and roast in the back. Not a huge fan of this personally.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 Got this at a local restaurant. Served in a tall tulip glass. Is black with a thin beige head. You can smell the sour. Taste of blueberries, balsamic vinegar, and just a tiny bit of heat.

5/24/13. 750mL bottle from Grassroots. Black pour with a very small, loose, soapy, tan head that sort of cascades up like Guinness, which is weird, and then fades fast and goes away. Uber sour aroma, both acidic and acetic, with wood, bourbon, soy sauce, alcohol, and balsamic vinegar. Super, super sour flavor, a touch of roast, some earthy peppers, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, sweetness, and more. Almost too much going on, not always melding well, and Iím not sure Iím convinced this was done on purpose.

Had this at Where The Wild Beers Are. Pours a deep brown to black with a thin white to beige head. Roast, blueberries, balsamic vinegar, faint heat. Soft musk, big chewy body, acetone over roast. Faint blueberries, gentle roast, cocoa, chocolate. Blueberries and acetone on the finish.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2013 Bottle. Pours pitch black. No head. Nose and taste of blueberry, aged balsamic, roast chocolate, muted chili pepper, oak and wild yeast. Finished mostly aged balsamic with hint of chilis and blueberry. The chlies are very muted and add more of a vegetableness than heat. Medium body.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Near lifeless black pour with spotty tan foam on the surface. Strong sour fruit, funky yeast, balsamic vinegar, wine notes, grape skins and wet wood make up the aroma. Taste is SOUR! My god this is sour! Unripe, tart berries, pure lemon juice, unripe fruit, funky yeast, wet wood, grape skins, sour wine, soft spiciness and heat from the chili peppers and more balsamic vinegar. Body is medium with near zero carbonation and a strong acidic feel. Bone dry during the finish and strong lingering sourness on the palate. Ends with more tart berries, soft heat and spices, extreme funk, wet wood, grape skins, sour fruit, lemon juice, earthy notes and wine.

good blueberry flavors, lightly acetic, but bearable. dark chocolate, tart, slightly tannic and dry on the back, light carbonation, medium-dense body, touch of residual sweetness in the finish.

On tap at Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery on the guest tap. This beer would be right at home in an artisanal vinegar tasting. Literally tastes exactly like fruit infused balsamic vinegar. Massively acetic, face-flushing sourness along with unripe berries. This would be nice on salad but itís just too much to handle in a glass.

On draught at Roscoeís Stout Summit 2/23/13. Incredible funk in the aroma. Blueberry and yeasty lambic notes. Almost too harsh of a sour finish, but still good.
