COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A special one time creation that truly lives up to its name. The base is a Stout brewed with hot chili peppers that has been aged for almost 2 yeasr with blueberries & pediococcus. It is opaque black in color in with just a touch of carbonation. Quite acidic & tart along with very intense flavors and aromas. This nightmare is sure to leave a lasting memory.

Last of the keg. Black color, fluffy and lacey brown head. Aroma of medicinal berries in a roasty background, very odd. Taste is fruity cocoa, coffee. Strange stuff. Not unpleasant, but the base beer is so delicious, why mess with it?

(750ml bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chili peppers, blueberries, and pedio. Flavor of blueberries, vinous, oil, chilies, pedio, dried cherries, and cocoa.

Black in color with a small khaki head. Roasty, some blueberry, and a bit of nail polish remover. Some butterscotch, smoke, bandaid, and salt. Light lemon notes, too. The flavor is a bit savory. Some smoke, roast, and chocolate. Salty, a bit of blueberry, light tartness, and some burnt sugar. Not terribly enjoyable.

Tap. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy tart fruit, sour and dark malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & tart flavor with a medium to heavy tart bite & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer for style.

Bottle @ Steve_0, thanks to Steve_0. Black appearance with no head. Soy sauce, whiskey, chocolate, garbage aroma. Really fucken nasty flavor. Worcestershire sauce, meat dripping, boozy, balsamic flavor. Fuck you.

Draft... This beer rocks!... Pours black with a large, creamy, lightly-tanned head that never diminishes. The aroma is a swirl of farmhouse yeast dustiness and sweet port intertwined with modest blueberry and cocoa components. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and vibrant carbonation. The flavor is oude bruin-like – sharp acidity flanked by fruity blueberries, cherries and hints of caramel and mocha. It’s a bit roasty, but that’s not a major element here. Finishes acutely tart and fruity. World class beer from a world class brewery!

Bottle. Batch 2 322/4000... yep, I agree with the description - ’creation that truly lives up to its name’ ... this one was a true nightmare. What a mess. Plastic beach balls, nasty tastes that made me cough and choke with every sip. Straight to the drain ...

UPDATED: APR 1, 2013 Bottle. Pours pitch black. No head. Nose and taste of blueberry, aged balsamic, roast chocolate, muted chili pepper, oak and wild yeast. Finished mostly aged balsamic with hint of chilis and blueberry. The chlies are very muted and add more of a vegetableness than heat. Medium body.

Draught @ Beer Temple shared with Lothore. Pitch black color, brown head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is sourish but also a little bit roasty and indeed a touch of blueberry. Taste is incredibly sour, acidic and vinegar. There is actually blueberry detectable, but the vinegar spoils it all imo. Very dry finish. Not. my thing.
