A special one time creation that truly lives up to its name. The base is a Stout brewed with hot chili peppers that has been aged for almost 2 yeasr with blueberries & pediococcus. It is opaque black in color in with just a touch of carbonation. Quite acidic & tart along with very intense flavors and aromas. This nightmare is sure to leave a lasting memory.

On draught at Roscoe’s Stout Summit 2/23/13. Incredible funk in the aroma. Blueberry and yeasty lambic notes. Almost too harsh of a sour finish, but still good.

On tap @ What’s Brewing 15. Pours deep dark blue, with a creamy reddish head. Aroma is tart berries and vinegar, with musty blueberries, bretty wood and cork. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart forest berries, tannins and balsamic vinegar, as well as bretty wood, farmhouse and musty earthy notes.

Draft at The Pour House in Westmont, NJ. Pours a dark purple, almost black color thats reminiscent of eggplant. Opaque with a thin, half finger off-white head that immediately settles. No lacing. Vinous dark fruit aroma with some earthy oak and a strong acetone presence. A bit too much solvent/nail polish for my liking but here’s also some funky yeast and wild bugs counter things a but. Lots of dark grape, currant and blueberry but the acetic vinegar is a big turnoff. Wow, the acetone is much sharper and prominent than in the nose. Really abrasive and acidic with tons of solvent flavor killing off the wild bugs, oak and blueberry. After a while the dark fruit notes come too the forefront with some blueberry, dark grape and currant. Still, it’s way too strong on the acetic acid/acetone/solvent flavors. Pretty much undrinkable after a few ounces.

Fat tørst nyc. Vätska som blåbärssoppa. Syrlig doft med blåbär och vingummi. Mycket syrlig smak av råa bär och godis. Torr och sträv avslutning

Bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma was vinegary with blueberries and some hints of chili peppers. Flavor was sour and acidic with vinegar, blueberries, peppers and light cocoa.

Bottle. Nothing should be purplish brown. That’s just WRONG. No head -- there are some bubbles, but they go away quickly. Nose is berry vinegar, red wine, brown sugar, and red cabbage. On the tongue -- holy GODS, that’s weird. It’s like blueberry chili sauerkraut laced with stout. It shouldn’t work, and it almost doesn’t work, but it sort of does work. This is not something I want to drink twice, but it’s worth it just for the experience. Finish is kind of hollow, but really, at this point, who the hell notices? This beer be wack.

Love sour beers and this fit the bill. Almost like balsamic vinegar in terms of tartness. Little chili heat at the end. Wouldn’t call it a stout but a very cool weird beer.

Wow, this is a mess. Aroma isn’t terrible; mostly sour grapes / wine. Taste is full of vinegar / sour. Finishes with some heat and burning.

This beer was just like the name suggests, a nightmare. Brought to a tasting and all 8 of us agreed. Appearance wasn’t bad with a brown, red, purple thing going on and tiny tan head. Aroma was pure vinegar with hints of blueberry present. Flavor was vinegar, acid, and some sweetness and blueberry. Body was full and texture was thin for what the bottle says is a stout with peppers and blueberry. Soft carbonation and bitter, acidic, sour finish. Quite simply the worst beer I’ve ever drank. I felt like I was sipping on a bottle of balsamic.

Opaque. Medium body, intense flavor, thin texture. As acidic as a strong vinegar, some sweet in background. Complex flavor, balsamic with lemon. Interesting, not pleasant unless used to season your salad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
