Bottle from the LCBO. Golden orange with a very slight haze and a small white head. Lovely aroma - sweet and fruity (apricot, yellow plum, grape), a bit spicy (most notably coriander & ginger, with a peppery background) and floral, and surprisingly fresh smelling considering that I’ve been sitting on it for a few months at least. Flavour is also very fresh and lively, with apricot and green grape sweetness, some drying ginger and pepper, a bit of yeast, and lingering chamomile and green tea in the finish. Wonderful stuff - I may have to go grab a few more bottles while it’s still around.

This surprisingly delicious brew is like a little taste of springtime. Just a little sweetness as it touches the lips, then dances in light fruits and spices across the tongue. Grab a bottle when you can find it!

Hazy golden body with a white head. Fruity, mostly citrus, flowers, some yeast, bread, really smells like spring. Taste is refreshing, with some spice notes. Sweet mostly. Very refreshing beer. I would definitely want to have this again during a warm summer day.

Sampled draft @ Borefts 2014. Thank you! Orange, creamy white head. S & T are muted because this way too cold. Hay, citrus, light hop, apples, barnyard,… Light. Good

ante (3374) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 28, 2008
Bottled at Monks Café, Stockholm. Pours out in a hazy dark golden colour with a rich dense white head. Rich fruity and herbal aroma of dried oranges, mild banana, rose-petals, all-spice, tangerine, vanilla and cispy crackers. Medium-bodied with fresh herbal and orangey flavours of vanilla, tangerine, crackers, mango, spices and mild banana. Quite lively carbonation. Long fruity finish of Seville oranges, perfume, herbs, white pepper, grassy hops and vanilla. Really tasty and complex.

Tap at Rustico. Glowing, dandelion hue, clouded; a gorgeous frothy crown of white. Pickled ginger shavings, vinegar and crumbled red pepper aroma; pungent and sharp initially, but acquiescent; crisp, cool green spices, green bell pepper, chamomile, and brisk strawlike bitterness to temper it. Lovely. Flavor is leafy and herbal, very calm and composed; vanilla and basil leaf sweetness, earthy, ripe green fruitiness dusted with a sandy wheat malt presence of banana and crisp clove, and some rice cereals. Effervescent, frothy palate; reticent medium body; a very relaxed, delicate presentation altogether and careful blend of spicing that could very easily be taken for completely absent. A great, brightly brisk, soft example; stellar.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2010 My Bottom Line:
This voluble Saison thrills with its herbal honesty, honeyed compliments, gingery sparks and long spicy bitterness. An example of finesse in action and abundant personality.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A fluffy head of foam covers the misty amber golden.
-The chamomile and green pepper meld beautifully with the herbal hops, almost emulating fresh basil at times.
-A delicate Belgian yeast presence softens the spiciness.
-The honeyed and spicy fruitiness offers orangey and peachy hints. Coriander surely is responsible for part of this sensation.
-This is a really drinkable and amenable spicy Saison.
-This is surely one of the best Italian brews I’ve had.

Bottles.
