COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a variation of SALLY BROWN and a result of the collaboration with Torrefazione Baracco in Parma. The nose is notably marked by coffee aromas from the high elevations of the Equatorial regions. Fragrant malt roasts harmoniously mingle with coffee exotic aromas. The mouth has a velvety body with hints of caramel, cappuccino and smoked flavor. To all those crafts men like us who daily embody their passion by creating something unique.

I have always loved good coffee, particularly Arabica, because it evokes its long mastered roasting tradition in a few enduring sips. Conventional coffee on the other hand, is spoiled by the use of Robusta beans and the excessive over roasting.
Meeting Alberto was definitely a stroke of good luck. We became friends and I ended up developing a deep appreciation for his coffee. Together we created a coffee blend that would match my beer’s aroma. Although this coffee-stout experiment started as a game, it turned out to be quite successful.

Bottle [330ml] at Bistro L’Autre Oeil, Aylmer. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with an average size mostly-lasting frothy tan head. Nice aroma, just slightly mild, of roasted malt, coffee, light lactic notes, leafy hops, milk chocolate and some nuts. Flavour’s the same, with coffee, roasted malt, milk chocolate, light lactic notes, light leafy hops and nuts. Average dry, bitter finish. Medium bodied. Great stuff, well done.

Bottle: Medium fluffy bit airy more creamier and a bit darker head than the normal Sally Brown beer. With a murky dark ruby shine. More ruby and clearer (still murky) than the regular Sally Brown. A strange dark brown blackish murky beer is tob e found under the pretty quick changing head into a lacing. You smell that this one has coffee added, which the normal Sally Brown doesn’t have this dominating in the aroma. You smell the difference. There’s also some aroma’s of spices, burned wood, pure coffee and something light light sweet ish. Taste is still a bit watery but does have a slightly more spicier and coffee taste which makes it a a bit more bodied in taste than the regular one. I do taste coffee, roasted coffee, hint of burned wood, some light spices and a hint of roasted malts. Not unbalanced but a bit weak. The traces of the light light sourness in the regular version is not really traceable in this one. Coffee ish burned wood and light to medium bitter aftertaste. Also a slight hint of herbs in the aftertaste. Low to medium carbo, softer mouthfeel than the normal Sally Brown, Medium to a bit fuller body and a bit more creamier in texture than the regular Sally brown.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of cream, coffee, nuts, earth, caramel and some light hops also noticeable. Medium-bodied; Assertive coffee notes at first with a relatively light and subdued nuttiness with a little earth and caramel. Aftertaste is mild and only showing some light coffee flavours - not so great, actually. Overall, a good smelling and looking beer, but the flavours and complexity just aren’t there. Nice to sample, albeit quite expensive - still good to find and sample. I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 24-July-2011 for US$9.25 sampled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 11-November-2011.
