Pours dark brown with a foamy head. Aroma of dark roasty malts, hints of cocoa and spices. Taste is sweetish, malty with hints of grain, roastiness and cocoa. Finish is sweetish and smooth with some dry fruitness and grainy notes. Decent, slightly unbalanced brown ale.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with very rocky light tan coloured head. Minimal lacing. Cap shows a heavy film of yeast sediment that tastes and smells like milk chocolate. Aromas of dark chocolate, a little coffee and some roast grain. The chocolate is quite dominant though. Pretty good. Unfortunately the taste really lets this one down. It is thin and sour with a slightly astringent bitterness from the grain. Really lets it down. Thin mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a lasting off-white head.
Nose shows milk chocolate, vanilla, soft earthy coffee and gentle roasted malt.
Similar flavours, quite sweet and very gentle. Could use some extra roasted malt to balance out the sweet chocolate and vanilla notes.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ottima.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Tabarro, Parma. Pours black-brown with a cream, beige head. Sweet, woody, meaty aroma with mild dark and roasty malts. Medium sweet flavor with dark malts, dark sugars, some light earth, spices, dirt and old tobacco. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with light, wet burnt wood, dirt, faint grape tang, mild roast. There’s a slight vinous quality to the beer. So so overall.
