(Rating #3351)

Bottle @ mondial de la bière. A brown beer with medium head. Aroma is very watery and disappointing, no real malt aroma, no real stout presence.

Bottle - 330ml. Pours an opaque black body with an average beige creamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate and grainy hints. Taste is well balanced and carries some roasty notes. Ends with a decent bitter/roasty finish. Well done!

On tap. Pours with a tan head and a brown body. Aroma is strongly coffee, with chocolate and some earthy/woody notes. Taste is huge, big time coffee. Some nuts. Lingering roasty finish. Lively bubbles. Attenuated pretty well for a stout. Good.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Pikkulintu) Poured deep brown and almost clear. Head was small and white. Aroma contained malts, coffee and mildly fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, roastedness, coffee, hint of chocolate and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter.

Fresh ground coffee with a touch of hazelnut. Cludy brown, thin yellow head. Ground coffee flavor, a little dirty. Very good porter.

4oz. sample @ Churchkey, DC. light brown, medium tan head. aroma, nice coffee roast, getting plenty of espresso, some earthly elements. flavors, malty, lots of espresso, this one packs a nice roasted flavor punch for only 5.2%, some dark malts, mild chocolate. Thin body with mild bitter coffee finish and hints of dark fruits. I like the effort out of Ducato, in line with the style, though plenty of coffee to go around, nice bittering finish, dark roasted malts.
