4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Travlr (7946) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 6, 2010

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GT2 (5648) - Riverslime, California, USA - AUG 3, 2010
Tap at Churchkey. Pours a clear ruby looking deep brown with a healthy, brown head that has minimal retention and spotty lace. Nose is weak overall- not much coffee. Actually there is some sulphur and aspargus urine/rotting cabbage in the aroma. Probably a DMS flaw. Some Mexican mole sauce and salsa comes through too. Very odd indeed and not 100% off-putting but certainly something weird is going on. Taste is black pepper, coffee, vanilla. Palate is creamy, fairly slick, a little too much diacetyl creates a buttery slickness on what is otherwise a very thin, light, watery beer.

Draft. Medium tan head atop cola black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee/espresso, roast, cream, some milk chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, coffee/roast, some bittersweet chocolate, faint molasses. Smooth medium body, light effervescence.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thewolf (9847) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 5, 2010
Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding.
Pours a fine, light muddy, dark brown with a big, staying, frothy, beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, wonderful soft coffee touch, light chocolate. Medium carbonation, great dry mouthfeel. Kinda light, but in the good way. Flavour has lots of good cold coffee notes, light roasted malts. Long, lingering, bitter coffee finish. Damn, this is real tasty.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Boutip (3971) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 25, 2010
Bottle: Poured a clear deep black color porter with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry coffee notes with some roasted malt and a side dish of lactose. Taste is similar to a ’’café au lait’’ with some light coffee overshadowed by lactose and sugar. Body is a bit thin thought somewhat creamy with good carbonation. Not bad and very different from its American and English counterpart.
