Pump @ Lortica, Bologna. Black beer and a big beige head with lots of bubbles. A full flavour bomb of an IS. This was very hard for me to drink as the whisky was overwhelming in the flavour. There was a burning sensation in throat on every sip. And I like good whisky!

Bottle (take away from Drunken Duck); pours black with a very thin brown head; has a smoky aroma with hints of malt, chocolate, and alcohol; taste is chocolate and malt with smoked wood and alcohol; has a dry boozy finish; while the alcohol is noticeable, it is not overpowering; this is a nicely balanced imperial that is easy to drink

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2015 Bowmore-barrel aged version of Verdi with added chilli peppers. Sticky, firm, beige head, colour very dark brown, near black. Powerful and delightful aroma of coffee powder, toffee, tobacco, tar, cherries, hardly any chilli peppers (not sure if this is a good thing or not)... Peaty, earthy and smoky profile, chocolate and sweetish honeyish malts, liquorice, light peppery finish from hops and for all I know from the chilli peppers, some warming, very agreeable, whisky-like alcohol. Another masterpiece from Ducato - ti amo!

Draught @ Øllets Dag 2014, Kolding. Pours cloudy very dark coffee brown with small light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and coconut and vanilla touches from the barrel. Booze in the long nose but that is understandable. Sweetish and vinous flavour of malt and coffee beans, with pronounced notes of barrel AMD sweetish hints of vanilla. Very low carb. Warming alcohol presence. Bittersweet aftertaste. Perfectly balanced. Sooooo good.

Birra quasi divina, con una torbatura morbida e avvolgente che si intreccia con le note di caffé, cioccolato, legno maturo e whisky per un risultato che è degno di stare nell’olimpo delle imperial stout invecchiate!!!

Black with low brown head - Malt aroma with smoke in it as well - Nice malt body with smoke in the back - The smoke goes into the finish, and it lasts - This was quite nice

L’idea è davvero notevole, un imperial invecchiata in botte di whiskey. Infatti ne vien fuori una cosa davvero innovativa, che il mio palato non aveva mai assggiato. Colore nero impenetrabile. Al naso leggero torbato, caffè e legno. In bocca è molto equilibrata, anche se la componente alcolica, spicca. Non male però, anzi...

Sampled form a 0.33l bottle from #119, 2002 islay cask, @ Crowbar - courtesy of Sigmund. Thanks man! This is a near black looking one in the glass. It also has a small quickly sidesticking kinda brown looking little head. I was expecting a peat bomb, but this is actually a tad sweeter and more balanced than what I was expecting. Still, it has some strong roapy, burned, really woody islay tones here. A faint vanilla sweetness in the back and it also has a thick and dark roasted tone all the way. Oh, the peat kicks you in the teeth when tasting it! It’s quite woody okay and infused with a smoky punch. Thick and oily in the mouth with a gentle prickling carbonation level. Concentrated chocolate milk with dark burned wood, sea rope and burned leather. Not something you chug down, but as a small sampler it’s quite nice. 16.02.2014
