Imperial stout aged for at least 6 months in barrels of whiskey from Scotland’s best distilleries (each batch is bottled from a single cask of that year and the area of ​​origin is indicated on the label). It has aromas of vanilla, licorice, chocolate, wood and peat alternating alcoholic and ethereal nuances. In the mouth, warm and soft, complex but balanced: an unforgettable experience. Aged in Speyside Scotch barrels from 1969.

Ingredients: Water, malt, hops, yeast, spices.

330ml green bottle. 10%abv on label. Speyside 1969. Deep brown pour, hint of ruby at the edges. Light brown head, decent looking, creamy, tight bubbles. Light streaks of lacing in the glass. Nose has big whiskey up front, chocolate, some decent woody barrel character. In the mouth the beer has big roast and chocolate notes, getting a tanginess from the barrel (I’m guessing). Finishes roasty and pretty dry, some black coffee and a late hint of peat. Woody notes emerged in the finish during the second half of the bottle. Medium bodied, good level of carbonation, tight bubbles on the tongue. All around a highly enjoyable barrel aged impy, though I can see why some people may not be a fan of it.

Fra flaske på Mi2, Cardinal april-16: kullsort med kort skum. Aroma og smak av kaffe, torvrøkt malt, whisky, tjære, kaffe, lakris, sviskeplommer. Lavt karbonert, slank og lett å helle innpå selv om jeg synes at den dufter bedre en den smaker.

Kolor: ciemnobrunatny, klarowny, z dużą ilością zawiesiny drożdżowej.
Piana: obfita, strzelająca, sycząca, dość szybko opada.
Zapach: whisky, torf, gorzka czekolada, ciemne owoce, wiśnie, sherry.
Smak: średnia pełnia, sporo nut beczkowych, whisky, wędzonki torfowej, gorzka czekolada, kakao, wyraźnie palony, sporo nut ciemnych owoców, wiśni, sherry, goryczka średnia, palona, przyjemne rozgrzewanie w żołądku.
Wysycenie: w kierunku wysokiego.

Dark brown almost black. Has an off-white head. Heavy sweet and roasted aroma, notes of smoke and medicine, band-aid.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown, near-black body with a small off-white head. Nose is red berries, solvent, phenolic smoky tones, wood, overripe melon and hints of caramel and chocolate. Taste is weird fruity notes, earthy leaves, cellar must, smoke, caramel and hints of wood, phenolic and red berries. Medium body and carbonation. Weird. Phenolic and quite frankly not very good at all. The barrel hasn’t done this one any good.

Black color with brown foam ring. The smell has a lot of bacon and peat smoke. The taste is roasted bacon with a little burned finish and a particle feeling. The aftertaste is smokey burned peat.

Bottle. Black in color with a tan thick head. Chocolate, dark vinous notes, some peat and ripe raisins aroma. Never mind the above mentioned combination, this works out quite well though. Licorice, coffee and whiskey barrels in taste. Peat is quite evident too. No sign of the abv here. Chocolate and warming notes in the end.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2016 Tap at Erzbierschof. Re-rated on 14.4.2016. Very, very burnt, lots of smoky whisky barrel. Not sure this was in Speyside barrels, rather tastes like Laphroaig. Greasy and heavy and full. If you like burnt whisky, this is perfect. If you don’t, well... Not so much.
