Top fermented beer which is subjected to a secondary fermentation in bottle. It is deep dark ebony in color with a cappuccino head. The nose has aromas of chocolate, licorice, coffee grounds and tobacco with alcohol nuances. Its full bodied, long lasting, smooth and dry mouth is followed by a surprisingly hot finish that breaks its initial fullness and makes you crave more!

It is suitable for aging.

Dedicating one of our beers to Giuseppe Verdi was a must since our microbrewery is located in Roncole Verdi, the composer’s birth place. When I returned from my first visit to New York City I decided to create a beer that would be superior in elegance, balance and drinkability to all those stout varieties I had overseas. Although the initial recipe has changed, the very first batch matched my vision. Its uniqueness lays in the use of chili pepper which combines very well with the beer’s chocolate aroma. The hot finish also lightens its full bodied mouth by awakening the palate.

Verdi Imperial Stout is the first Italian craft beer to have ever been crowned with a gold medal in its category at an International beer contest. In 2008 it ranked first at The European Beer Star in the Imperial Stout category.

Deep dark color with little beige head. Aroma is full of coffee, chocolatte, little oxidated, acid. Taste is alcohol, espresso, bourbon, little watery, spiced and acid. Strange...

Black, without any foam remaining. Light coffee aroma, equal in taste. Not outspoken, bit flat, coffee and chocolate notes, light bitter. Bit dissapointing. (Milano 201512)

W aromacie przyjemna czekolada, kawa, rodzynki, palone słody.

En trevlig kraftfull IS. Gott

Bottle. lack body with brown head. Aroma is roasted malts with coffee and some chocolate. Taste is also roasted malts with licorice chocolate and and coffee and slight chili. Aftertaste is roasted malts bitterness with a little bit warmth of the chili. Usually I don’t like chili in beer but here its very nice.

0,1l from bottle at Craft Bier Fest Wien. black color, small dark coffe-colored head. smells malty roasted, licorice, coffee, bitter chocolate, spices, earthy notes. quite nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes roasted, rather strong of licorice, earthy, some coffee, chocolate, peppery, light chili notes. finishes with light chili and some roast and licorice notes. drinks quite good, chili is subtle enough, overall good imp stout but not on par with the best ones.

Sampled from bottle at brewmakers dinner, Kick. Pitch black body with a disappearing tan head. Nice aroma of medium roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, coffee and notes of wood. Flavor is smooth, soft roasted dark malt, coffee, chocolate, mild wood and moderate but balanced fruity bitterness. Fine balanced body and nice aftertaste. A smooth and solid Imperial Stout without any sharp edges. Slightly warning but not really alcoholic.
