Clear dark black color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, cask wood, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft - flat. (060808)

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, roasted malt, and a bit of bourbon. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and alcohol. The body is light compared to the flavors.

33 cL bottle. Pours black with a diminished tan head. Smooth chocolate and mild roasted malt aroma. Mild roasted and maty flavoured with a light chocolate note and ligh acidic. Ends smooth and chocolate flavoured.

Bottled@GBBF2008. Black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is very strong roasted malts and alcohol. Flavour is quite much the same with some sweet notes of wood, dark dry fruits nad sour coffee. Warming alcohol.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2008 Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Opaque black with coarse beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate. Very soft and verlvetty. Like whipped cream with tar pastiles and chocolate. Laid back, yet mouthfilling. Aniseed and a very slight warming tingle from the chili comes through in the salty finish. A wonderful, well balanced beer that exceeds my expectations.

Roasted aroma of chocolate and coffee with notes of caramel and liquorice.
Roasted flavour of chocolate and coffee with notes of pepper, liquorice, alcohol and hops.
Roasted and burning peppery finish.
Quite good, but too much pepper.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with hints of chili. Has a roasted malty chocolate and spicy chili finish.

Tap at KBH Festival, 2009. Pous a pitch black with a small creamy head. Low carbonation. Round and smooth. Chocolate, cocoa and coffee. Spicy peppery notes. Vague warmth. Ends dry and roasted bitter.

Black color with majestic head, brownish and creamy. Aroma of roasted malt and some cardboard, unexciting; but also some coffee later, and that’s better. The flavor is very good, with dark chocolate and some roasted malt, not too ashy as other black beers, and not thick at all; good bitterness level.
Good chocolatey Foreign Stout.
