Svesse (1708), Hässelby, Sweden May 14, 2008 (Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with huge, off-white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with generous doses of floral, grassy hops and notes of citrus. Malty, slightly fruity taste with citrus, hay, loads of grassy hops and notes of grapefruit. Lovely hop character, rather dry, medium body. Sensational pilsener, very Jämtlands Hell-ish, but less aggressive and more balanced. Lovely beer!
jefcon (826), Arlington, Virginia, USA Sep 5, 2008 Very astringent with pepper and citrus. Aromas of spicy hops rise from the haxy yellow beer. Flavors are a bit muddled and perhaps suffer from the low level of alcohol, failing to bring out the brightness that these flavors would benefit from. Mes_and_Sim (4365), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 24, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF. A slightly cloudy pale gold with a thin white head. Note of grain and lemon with a good level of bitterness. Spicy peppery notes make for a spritzy palate. Good length to the dry and bitter finish. Good all round just not much to get excited about.
