I created this beer to celebrate my wedding and my bride who has always loved Rauch beers. The city of Bamberg is particularly dear to us. We ventured through its streets, indulged in its well known smoked beers and stood together contemplating the water ripples of the river Regnitz.
Being in Tettnang 2 days before the wedding to select the newly harvested hops, I brought back 10 freshly uprooted hop plants to decorate the wedding reception. Instead of the traditional rice tossing, the guests showered us with hop flowers. My weeding suit was garmented by a small hop blossom as well. With more than 200 guests and 450 liters of beer, many remember our celebration as one of the most memorable gatherings they have ever attended.
Selling the leftover beer to some clients was such a success that we decided to keep brewing it. It is now part of our beer family!

330ml bottle from The Wine Emporium. Great beer with a great story behind it. Smokiness in the aroma and flavour reminds me of a campfire.

On tap at the Local Taphouse. Great aromas. Nose of smoke, caramel, vanilla, and nuts. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and average length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Brown, with a thin head.

Carbonazione perfetta. Tra le migliori rauchbier mai assaggiate.

Tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours clear, bright copper with a medium, beige foam head. Pleasant smoked malt nose, hints of tangy berries. Medium sweet flavor with restrained smoke, very lightly toasted sugars, some dry bread. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dries out nicely to finish with good smokiness, light dry caramel, very faint ham and minerals. Well executed rauchbier. I like it a lot.

Pours deep ruby red with a small off white head. The nose is smoked bacon, caramel, some underlying notes of dark fruit. The taste is medium sweet and medium bitter throughout. The texture is sticky and sharp, the body is light and the finish is long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a reddish brown with a healthy off white head. Aroma of the roasted malt. Medium body, flavour is a classic Bamberg style beer, better than most local versions.
