3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 zaf (167) - ITALY - JUN 12, 2013

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dorqui (1799) - Brescia, ITALY - MAY 15, 2013
Bottled 0,33L. Hazy golden/orange color, much charged aspect, good foamy head of long duration. Aged and little sour nose, notes of citrus (like a witbier), yeast, grapes fermented juice. Discreet alcoholic impact, aged and cellar uppermost palate.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Edoardo (8) - ITALY - MAY 14, 2013 does not count
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 daje (1400) - NORWAY - APR 16, 2013

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Silvan7 (154) - Samarate, ITALY - APR 10, 2013
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Mortlach (745) - Rome, ITALY - MAR 20, 2013
21/12/2012 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Dorata, torbidissima, schiuma biancastra discretamente abbondante e persistente.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 tfredvik (650) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 10, 2013
I thought I knew what a tripel should smell like by now, but no, this one has an aroma completely different from all other beers I’ve tried of this style. Sure there are some of the well-known yeasty notes and vague spices, but the dominating parts of the rather faint aroma are sweet wort, pale malts and toffee. Very strange, and not that inviting. In addition there are notes of fruits, apple, sweet honey and red clover nectar (ok, the last one there might be a bit too precise, the nectar from other types of clovers and flowers might smell the same, but I’m the one coming up with the associations here, m’kay?). In the glass the beer looks orange and surprisingly cloudy. The head is egg-white and long-lived and reduces to a thin layer. The taste is moderate sweet and moderate bitter. There are notes of yeast and spices in the flavours, but again some sweet, organic notes are dominating: I get heather honey and fruits, with additional toffee and alcohol. The body is medium to full with a rather creamy texture. The carbonation starts out quite lively but it decreases unusually fast, leaving a bit to softly carbonated brew before the glass is empty. There is very little dryness before the finish, but the aftertaste is light dry. A weak tripel.
