ABV from 5.3% to 5%.

Bottle shared on an old train lumbering through the Isle of Wight...typical RB day out. Pours rich brown with a foamy tan head. The aroma holds dark fruits, dried berries. Medium sweet flavor with some oily chocolate, moderate roast, light ashy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; lightly chewy. Finishes fairly sweet with notes of toasted bread, old fruit, light dirty leather, berries and plums. Good stuff.

Semi opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with mild fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, very light roast. Traces of coffee and tangy dark fruits. Dry finish. Inoffensive but at the end of the day, just another porter.

Bottle on a 1938 stock train after pissing off the end of the platform next to some other persons turd ... yes its the IOW Jolly Day, bottle from the GBBF, 24/08/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering that retains. Nose is roast malt, dark toffee, light cocoa, brown bread. Taste comprises earthy tones, cocoa, dark toffee, roast malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with roasty tones. Ok porter, fairly simple stuff but ticks the style boxes.

IoW train bottle. Dark brown with a medium sized diminishing light brown head. Ash, charcoal, bark, light mushroom, light fruity. Medium body, watery/oily texture, soft/medium carbonation, light/medium sweet and bitter. Ok mouthfeel, nothing spectacular overall.

Bottle on the Wibbly-Wobbly train during IoW Jolly. It pours near black with a small light tan head. The nose is rich roast, toast, treacle, cherry cola and mild soy sauce. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, cola, cocoa, mild acidity, coffee and chewy malt with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Straight-forward and easy-going. Solid.

Bottle share at GBBF 2014. I love buying these Italian beers in these beautifully designed sleek 1920s style bottles. This is opaque very dark brown to black, no head. Nose is dark chocolate, roasted malt, black coffee, some tangy green hops in there too. Taste is coffee grounds, dark chocolate, coffee liqueur, roasted malt. Body isn’t as oily as I’d expected.

Pompa @ Savona a tutta birra, Nera con schiuma un po' grossolana. Gradevolmente amarognola e tostata, niente di speciale ma molto godibile! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold
