Had at the Birrae Sotte L’albero in Rome. Pours dark black with a large brown head. Nose is more a chocolate porter than baltic. There are hints of briney and salty oders but not strong enough for this style. Chocolate and coffee dominate with some woody notes also. The flavor is sweet, no bitter comes through. No frills. The mouthfeel is way to soft, should be sharp and crisp, body is heavy and the finish is medium.
