3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jredmond (4014) - Manhattan, New York, USA - MAY 6, 2013
Draft at Alla Spina with PJ. Pours a light body with haze and white lacing. Aroma is berry, yeast, champagne - but pretty muted all together. Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated with notes of over ripened fruits, berries, wheat and yeast. A bit plain.
3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20 kindacold (194) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - JAN 9, 2013
2008 Vintage. Pours golden orange with absolutely massive white foamy head that dissipates rather quickly. Smells fruity and malty. Cereal and currants on the nose. Tastes like grains and currants, some caramel and sweet candy notes. Almost no bitterness. Very light and fruity with lots of cream and cereal. Effervescent and smooth, with sweet finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Wolfbass (741) - Firenze, ITALY - NOV 26, 2012
Bevuta in compagnia come aperitivo, a me è garabta parecchio. Diciamo qualcosa di diverso dal solito, molto spumantina al naso, mentre in bocca il malto torna protagonista. Il finale è lungo e delicato.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kosmokrator (291) - ITALY - NOV 4, 2012
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Idiosynkrasie (1832) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUL 14, 2012
750ml bottle. Cloudy red to purple coulour with average, frothy, moderately lacing, pinkish off-white head. Fruity aroma with explicit black currant notes. Nice balanced taste, sweet fruity, tart and dry notes are harmonically combined. Nice.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 brenn79 (1198) - Idaho, USA - SEP 16, 2011
750 ml. bottle shared with Poisoneddwarf, thanks, bottled in 2006- Pours cloudy orange with lots of sediment, it has a huge head, my beer was 90% foam, and great lacework. The aroma is very funky, but it smells like overripe almost rotten fruit. The flavor is the same overripe fruit, plums or prunes. The body is medium, carbonation is high, finish is dry. Didn’t like this too much, it might be because it’s five years old, not sure if it’s meant to be aged.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 poisoneddwarf (1307) - Rathdrum, Idaho, USA - SEP 16, 2011
750 ml bottle, shared with brenn79. 6.4 % ABV. Bottled on January 2, 2006. I don’t know if this is meant to be aged or not. Found it on the discount shelf at my local beer shop. Pours a cloudy orange with a giant long-retaining cream-colored pillowy head. Aroma is funky, overripe fruit. Taste is sweet and lightly tart. A bit simplistic. Too many bubbles in the mouth. Tastes old. I hope I didn’t do the beer an injustice by rating an expired bottle. Couldn’t finish it.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 wchesser (670) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 2, 2011
Dried fruit, slightly honeyed aroma. Highly carbonated, with a mouthfeel not unlike a prosecco. Some sour fruit, slightly cloying. Not bad-this could happily get crushed at a porch party on a warm summer’s eve.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 oh6gdx (18576) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAY 31, 2011
Bottled@The 2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks MM!). Hazy orangeish golden colour with small fluffy head. Aroma is sour berries, some wood and mild notes of yeast. Flavour is quite similar with also some grains and fruity notes. Actually gets a bit better once warming up a bit. Pleasant fruit/berry beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 wedgie9 (1590) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Tasted on 3/20/11 from a 750mL bottle at Lush West Town, a bit of a gusher. Pours murky orange-brown with a massive, smooth white head that slowly recedes to uneven lacing with a thin collar. The nose is along the lines of an amber ale with caramel, nuttiness, and just a light hint of sweet blackberry underlying. The flavor is more tart with a good amount of cassis as the focus along with the somewhat sweet caramel malt acting as a solid backbone for the beer. The body is medium with sparkling carbonation and a long blackberry and caramel malt finish, and a good amount of drying tannin as well.
