sleepylopes (281), New York, USA Jun 23, 2008 i was expecting a gusher but it was not. love the gass saturation and the cream that it lends to the head and body. the nose i cassias syrup, taffy, melon, and cream. the aroma is much sweater than the taste. buttery and mellow with the lightest detectable notes of sour. a nice effort but it doesn’t live up to its big brother scires.
WeeHeavySD (1711), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 27, 2008 750ml bought on the east coast a few months ago shared with my gf cyn. Thankfully this didn’t gush like its sister beer. Pours orange with a tan head that is very frothy. Nose of black currant. Taste is sweet almost cloying with an over abundance of carbonation. jason (1506), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle. Gusher alert! Poured a big foamy body wiith some dark orange body. Aroma is light fruit and wheat. Flavor is light fruit, wheat, yeast and very heavily carbonated. jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jul 5, 2008 750ml bottle @Joe’s NYC Gathering–pours a white ring with cloudy amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, some sharp. Taste is sweet, then medium malt, some sharp. Minimal carbonation. JoeMcPhee (3692), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 Deep orange-ruddy beer, very cloudy with a light white head. Aroma is lightly fruity and quite earthy. There is a soft dustiness. It’s fruity but not overly sweet. It’s quite nice really. Lean and quite drinkable. Spritzy carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Probably the only cassis beer that I’ve truly enjoyed. puzzl (1732), New York, New York, USA Jun 26, 2008 Bottle at Joe’s tasting. Aroma is very dry, wheaty, chalky, unassertive. Great head on the pour, though no color from the cassis at all. No surprise, I guess, as they just used syrup. Lame. Some fruit in the flavor, but in general comes across as a total mess. Nothing meshes at all.
