1L bottle @ Kenís Walloping Wednesday - Softly hazed gold, creamy off white head. Nose held funked floral and sour lemon-like tones. Hints of yeasty black pepper emerge on further warming. Flavor was very nice with a well balanced mix of bretty funk and peppery lemon florals. Nicely complex for the light ABV. Light bodied, medium carbonation, peppery, sour fruity finish. Unique and tasty for sure. Thanks argo0.

Poured near the end of the bottle so the yeast was most likely heavy, but I donít mind since the yeast smelled and tasted fantastic. Nice soft funkiness in the nose, some sour and peppery basil/herb/spice aromas, the black pepper is certainly evident, and I pick up some lavendar floral scents and something resembling spiced berries and wood. Lightly tart flavor, tingling the tongue, then turning pasty while still remaining peppery all across the palate, start to finish. Even some grassiness in the finish as well. Good stuff. Weird beer and I like weird beer. 3.8

pours a murky light orange color with a huge creamy off-white head. little bit of sediment floating in glass. aroma of flowery hops and black pepper. aroma is somewhat similar to a fantome saison. flavor has notes of hops, pepper, bread, peanut brittle, grapes and berries. light bodied. hint of tartness on the palate. seems more like a summer beer than winter.

(1L bottle) Pours a cloudy amber body with a medium white head. Aroma of a florist shop dominated by roses on Valentines Day. Flavor of floral hops, berries, citrus, honey, and gueuze-like sourness. Reminds me a lot of a rose beer I had while in Dali, China last year.

Pale with a yeasty earthy aroma - olives? Very earthy flavor with some sweetness. Notes arenít very good - this was from a mass tasting.

Sampled on 2/3/07, thanks to boboski: Pours a transparent dark golden bronze with a fizzy, white, wispy-lacing head. Has a dry, earthy, bright floral aroma with a hint of sweetness and tartness. Body starts with an airy palate with some mild sweet and sour flavors with a touch of black pepper toward a thinner, drier floral finish. An interesting brew.

Courtesy boboski. Orange/amber with a thin layer of ice grayish carbonation. Grainy, musty, earthy, peppery, lightly bitter, floral, lightly sweet. Very interesting brew. Unique. Medium body, balanced. Very nice.

Thanks to JK for bringing this unique brew. Very light refreshing saison style beer. Sour and some barnyard aromas. I believe this is more of an acquired taste, but I thought this was a decent effort. Some olive in the flavor, meat, cheese, yeast, very interesting and unique.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2007 I thought it was a saison, and this is what I imagine saison used to be when it was intended as a refreshing beverage. Some acid in the aroma. Barnyard and horseblanket aroma. Sour, yeasty flavor. No alcohol in the nose or flavor, which is what I expected. I finished off the contents of the swing top bottle 6 days after first opening. The beer is still sour, but also has more of an earthy quality. It is brown and opaque with lots of sediment. This is good.
