3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ YNWA, Kolding.
Pours muddy yellow with practically no head. Aroma is lemony, lightly tart. Good deal of oranges and floral notes. Low carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is soft, lightly fruity tart, oranges, wood and brett. Light dryness. Okay, but not terribly balanced.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle opened with quite a pop. Aromas of citrus, unknown spice and yeast? Hazy orange tinged gold color with a minimal white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. A slightly brett-like sour for flavor with light spice, some yeast, and a lot of lighter fruits. I think I detect a little rose oil on the palate. Only a slight floral hoppiness. Reasonably dry. There’s a lot going on here. It’s very fresh and refreshing. A session ale for sure.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Overpriced ($17.99) bottle. Pours with a hazed golden body and a minimal bubbly white head that fades quickly. Aromas are tart and musty with notes of fruit (berries), honey, concord grapes, and saffron. Flavors of cork, bread, lactic acid, DMS, and just not entirely pleasant. Lightly herbal. Light carbonation. Odd finish.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2009 Sampled from a 1L bottle, 2007
Poured near the end of the bottle so the yeast was most likely heavy, but I don’t mind since the yeast smelled and tasted fantastic. Nice soft funkiness in the nose, some sour and peppery basil/herb/spice aromas, the black pepper is certainly evident, and I pick up some lavendar floral scents and something resembling spiced berries and wood. Lightly tart flavor, tingling the tongue, then turning pasty while still remaining peppery all across the palate, start to finish. Even some grassiness in the finish as well. Good stuff. Weird beer and I like weird beer. 3.8

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught Huge very dense & fine head; pinkish-amber beer, orange shine. Very fine, fruity-flowery nose, garden herbs and a hint of lemon(soap), touch of vanilla. Soft-sweet, very lightly fruity taste, with a sharper citrus spike, cider-like, in the bottled version. Again vanilla retronasal. Very lightly bodied, slick, a bit oily, but ending dry and extremely well-attenuated. This is probably one of the best summer drinking beer ever had - big congrats to the brewer for this effort in such a light beer.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2008 Second tasting, from the tap at Bir&Fud, Roma:
The body is nowhere as thin as the bottled version I had had and the flowers and pepper are a lot better expressed. This is clean, immensely drinkable, creative and well put together. Blend a Rosée d’Hibiscus with a Route des Épices and you’ll get something similar (but a tad heavier). 3.8/5
First tasting, from the bottle:
My Bottom Line:
Sweet pot-pourri notes and pointy pink grapefruit pith ride this slender and quizzical estival quencher.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Chunks of yeast abound in the cloudy beige topped with a slim veil of foam.
-In the same "flowery, light, and quenching" category, I would much rather go for a Rosée d’Hibiscus.
-Is it the spice and flower blend, or is lactobacillus creeping up on this one?
-The citrusy fruitiness is dangerously close to that of a cleaning agent in its chemical leanings.
-Bubbles are big are take up a lot of room in the palate.
