On tap at Ma Chi Siete - does that translate in to English as ’rip off prices’? Hazy amber beer, residual suddy white head. Dry palate. Very mild carbonation. Typical gueuze sourness, vinegar, worcester sauce and dried fruits. Dry finish with a little acid burn.

12-NOV-2011, draft @"Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa", Rome. Hazy golden with very low white head. Looks a bit thin. Typical geuze. Not really that sour, but very drinkable. Malty, tart, citric, bretty, and fruity. Quite like this. Simple but fine.

Alla spina a Bir & Fud a Roma. Clear medium-golden in color with a very small whitish head. The aroma is decent other than a bit of nail polish and acetobacter note that didn’t quite work too well. Other than that, sponge cake, butterscotch, and mild funk. The flavor is also a bit harsh with quite a nail polish note. Can’t say I’m a big fan. A little more sweet-to-sour ratio than I’d like as well. Medium-bodied and rather slick with medium-low carbonation level. I’m gonna have to...um...go ahead and sort of disagree with the other reviewers on this one. Yeeaaahh...

Assaggiata alla spina al bir&fud qualche settimana fa, pausa cafè ci riprova dopo l’incredibile successo della martina. come gueuze risulta un po’ atipica, specie a causa della carbonazione bassa, ma è sicuramente ottima.

Draught @ Bir&Fud, Via Benedetta 23, Roma, Italy 00153.

Clear medium orange colour with a average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate baking yeast, danish butter cake, butterscotch, vanilla, acidic fruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light acidic with a average to long duration, butterscotch, baking yeast, fruity - orange, lacto - milk sour notes. Flavor gets better and better the more i did drink ;O) Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110516]
