3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Leighton (6931) - London, ENGLAND - MAR 4, 2013
Bottle at CBC - Clerkenwell, London during Bruce’s 30th Birthday Party. Many thanks to Colin. Pours a very murky gold with a light, white cream head. Big musty pear nose, some sweat and funk. Medium to big sweet flavor with rotting pear, fruity sugars and light tang. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with sour pear, light sweat, further funk, ripe fruit sweetness. Like an extra dank and funky perry. Nice.

Decent.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Scopey (3243) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 10, 2013
Bottle at Bruce’s 30th, thanks to Colin. It pours cloudy golden with pretty much no head. The nose is sour apple, pear juice, lactic, light honey and ,apple chutney. The taste is acidic, rasping tartness, cider, sour apple, sweet pear, earth, light spice, oak and white grape skin with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Nice level of tartness. Quite cider-like really. Probably a bit too acidic, but enjoyable nonetheless.

At a tasting, thanks, hazy lightish orange colour, aroma of leather, wood detergent and mustard seeds, light fruity flavour and lots of varnish, quirky bitterness. Easy to drink and not too extreme, but where is the pear?

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 IlBevitorediLA (451) - ITALY - NOV 13, 2012

Pour is a light yellow with larger bubbles and very little head. The nose is sweet and has very sour peaches with light notes of pear. A touch earthy and seems acetic. Flavor is more sweet pear and peach, not bright, light dusty and earth tones offering a fairly sour finish and light bitterness. Acetic acid wasn’t there with a light body, soft and crisp in back with great carb and faintly dry.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Slayer85 (979) - Firenze, ITALY - SEP 4, 2012
Bottle (5,5% ABV). A cloudy dark golden/orange beer (but murky brown after the final pour), with a small, fully diminishing, white head. The aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately to heavily yeasty (barnyard, cheese, must/mold/mushrooms), with notes of pears, vanilla, citrus, apple skin, wet wood. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic. Light to medium body, watery texture, soft/flat carbonation, very long finish with light bitterness. It looks so so, but apart this, there’s a lot to enjoy. One of the most funky and rustic aroma, with so many nuances... I would have preferred more carbonation, but that’s a minor point in these kind of beers, I wouldn’t call it refreshing, but drinkable for sure. Excellent.
