COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle at Churchkey. Hazy chestnut color, small edge head, scant lacing. Aroma of butterscotch, dishwashing soap, licorice candy. Taste is licorice and root beer candy. Body is slightly syrupy and oily. Interesting.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of dried fruit, raisins, plums, honey, malt, yeast, and spices. Poured brown/very deep amber in color with a small, loose, tan head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny and small-sized particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of malt, dark ripe fruit, raisins, and slight spice. Medium body. Dry, lightly chalky texture. Average to slightly lively carbonation. Malt, dark ripe fruit, raisin, slight spice finish. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

A hazed dark amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a light sweet fruity ester with light spices. In mouth, an oxidized malt with cardamom, coriander, tea extract, not bad. Sampled at Bierkraft, Dec. 27 2011.

Bottle - 750Ml crowned. Pours copper with a short, fizzy beige head. Aroma is spicy and slightly herbal with sweet malt, dried fruit and caramel. Taste is rather sweet with chewy malt, caramel, spice (nutmeg and maybe light cinnamon), dark fruit, and faint herbal notes. Body is medium with a soft carbonation and a slick mouthfeel. Ends with more sweet malt, caramel, dark fruit notes, light spice, cookie and grassy/herbal notes. Not bad but not quite worth $30.

Not bad, pretty tasty. Nutty fruity nose, light fruity caramel on the palate. Overall pretty good, but expensive.

Hazy brown color.light caramel and spice aroma. Sweet beer, caramel flavor, with some chocolate. The spices appear, gently, mostly in the end. Pleasant.

Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of spices among them cloves, as well as medium notes of smoke and vinegar - messy impression. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and spices - among them cloves. The alcohol burns lightly on the palate.

A Mes rate. Bottle thanks hugely to Nate as part of the Imperial Geezer Tasting.
Hazy orange colour with a very good beige head. Raisins and caramel, lots of fruit and some excellent malt, although it’s just a little on the pukey side. Bags of spice but not overdone at all. Good balance considering the complexity. Surprisingly easy drinking. Good stuff.
