COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alc. 12,5% Vol

A decent beer, but really just an average barley wine.

33cl bottle. Minimal beige head atop murky copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, plum, some raisin, alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, plum/raisin, some alcohol. Literally a 5-second delay in the aftertaste before a plume of cocoa emanates from mid-throat. Minimal carbonation, medium-full body.

Bottle from Eataly store, Bologna, Italia, Feb 2011, consumed March 12th 2011. Pours murky puddle brown with tan head, no looker I’m afraid. Aroma is brown sugar some tangy fruit and a little cocoa. Taste is more of the same but overall quite disappointing, don’t think that this really did anything for me. A6 A2 T6 P3 Ov12 2.9

The 33cL bottle pours hazy brown with copper hues and thin off white head. The aroma goes from dates and prunes to cherry hard candy and cherry cough syrup to a touch of chemical booze. The taste is the same with dates thinly mixing with prunes, figs, raisins and a touch of caramel candy as I anticipate the thick rich body to kick in. . . Ahem . . . .Thick rich body to kick in . . . Hmm. This is water thin and gets about as complex as iced tap water by midway and I’m drinking this near room temp. Very little picks up into the finish as this beer simply whimpers away. Still an interesting experience.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, Earth, toasting, and a hint of caramel. Poured deep amber/copper in color with a small, off-white/tan head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Cloudy. Not sparkling at all. Full of small, medium, and large-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, alcohol, nuts, toasting, and some cocoa. Medium body. Average texture. Soft to average carbonation. Malt finish. Likely an old bottle.
