1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, - JUL 19, 2004
Bottled. Clear deep golden, average head. Vegetable aroma. Extremely sugary sweet. Soft mouthfeel. Lingering sugary finish. Peas and rice are possibly added to the mash.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2012
My Bottom Line:
Subtle honeyed and toasted malts dwell in a crisp body concluded by a light hop finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam tops the clear golden.
-Bubbly carbonation makes this easily drinkable.
-Peas used in the mash don’t really appear in the flavor profile (when fresh, anyway).
-This is an inoffensive, highly drinkable lager. Nothing more, nothing less.
-The unfiltered, unpasteurized which is only available on tap was slightly better than the filtered, pasteurized bottles.<
From the bottle at the brewery tasting room.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2012 500ml bottle (SOPP2009) (5:2:5:3:10=2.5)
Slightly lactic lager in the Latvian to Lithuanian way. Pleasantly sweet fruity pancake and cream taste, some honey. Pleasantly hoppy finish lasts for a while. Decent lager.
500ml bottle (Birzu Brewery) (5:2:5:3:9+=2.4+)
Sweet. Not much aroma, just simple malts. Smooth. Clean. Well made, but there’s just nothing to get your teeth into.

Quite sweet, not so strong, but still alcoholic. Average beer from Birzai region, where brewers make strong, sweet and tasty beer.
