MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2012
My Bottom Line:
This strong lager’s faint flavor profile delivers sugary honey, alcohol heat and... emptiness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam surfs the clear dark gold.
-Fresh cereals from their Miezinis have disappeared in favor of sugars and alcohol.
-This is still clean and rather faultless.
-Hops do not exist in this brewery, it seems.
-A semblance of rice is perceived.

Bottle.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 500ml bottle (SOPP2009) (5:3:4:2:8=2.2)
Sweet caramel aroma. Palate is smooth, but there are papery retronasals. Sugary caramel taste. Some tingle or acidity of hops, but like extract rather than real hops.
Rerate: 500ml bottle (Birzu Brewery) (5:2:4:3:9=2.3)
Big ester aroma. Covers the alcohol well, but is rather dull.

Plastic bottle in 2005 at One Pint Pub, notes say only Birzu Alus, 8%, but most likely this one (as I had the 8.8% Alus version just before this one). Deep golden colour with minor head. Aroma is alcohol, mild toffeeishness and rubber. Flavour is also alcohol with some strange sweetness lurking.

Geiserich (2335) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - NOV 28, 2005
Plastic bottled: Sweetish aroma and taste, alcoholic and medical. Once again one of this horrible Birzu Alus beers.

Honey golden, not much head. Sweetish, malty nose. Alcoholic, sweet and rude palate. Dry sweetish aftertaste.

Nice golden (amber) yellow colour. Sweet, strong. Sugarry. Just a couple of mugs per evening.

Honey-copper appearance. Looks rather flat. Sweet aroma with peas, corn syrup and slight caramel. Unimpressive.

Bottled. Amber colour. Sweet and sugary with clean mouthfeel. All about sugar. A bold, clumsy beer lacking finesse.
