Dark mahogany color with a Garnet glint when held to the light. Moderate head of dried bone colored bubbles. Somewhat worty in scent with dark caramel, toasted malt, sweet roasted peanuts and waft of smoke. Very metallic from the first quaff. I feel like I am sucking on cubes of aluminum and iron, along with a 9 volt battery in my mouth. Some sweet caramel malt and mild acidity add to the mix. The acidity just builds and while creating a cleansing sensation, I fell my mouth is being sanitized. I could see cooking with this, but it’s not that much of a brew for sitting around with.

Jul 13, 2008 From a bottle--Poured a light dark brown-black body with a hefty beige head. Slightly oxidized, crisp and creamy. Finished spicily hopped and mildly toasty. Not bad. Not great/

Jul 8, 2008 The aroma is like cardboard with cola and malt. The appearance is brown with a tiny head. The flavor is like the aroma but dry. The palate is thin. Overall this is a loser.

Jul 6, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pours dark with a fizzy small white head. smooth and sweet heavy malt flavour with a hint of berries. Overall rather bland.

Jun 22, 2008 500ml screw top bottle... classy! Anyway, pours clear, dark walnut with a fizzy beige head. Very sweet caramel nose, grassy and grainy. Light body. Sweet caramel and grain flavors, earthy and lightly chocolaty. A bit of dry bitterness in the finish, a touch of charcoal. Meh.
