2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Butters (3324) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 19, 2008
Mahogany pour with fair tan head. Cardboard and astringent. Is this wheat based? Malty floralness. I’ll take a 1554 over this any day.

There’s not much to this, the taste is thin with a taste of cola and licorice. Its kinda of thin, the rest of the beer taste weak.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Allen (2674) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 10, 2008
Bottled 50cl. Poor nose with hints of hay, honey and metal accompanied by dark chocolate. Poor. Sweet buttery taste with hints of grassy hops and raisins. Metallic and sulphury. Cloying. Some tar sneaking in. Residual sugars in the finish. A mediocre Schwarzbier. Rather dissapointing.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Immy (1955) - Virginia Beach, USA - JUN 22, 2008
500ml screw top bottle... classy! Anyway, pours clear, dark walnut with a fizzy beige head. Very sweet caramel nose, grassy and grainy. Light body. Sweet caramel and grain flavors, earthy and lightly chocolaty. A bit of dry bitterness in the finish, a touch of charcoal. Meh.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 argo0 (10388) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 28, 2007

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Dickinsonbeer (5075) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2007
.5 liter bottle, says best by April 24, 08 so I should have plenty of time, yet this tastes pretty old already. Pours a deep woody brown almost black with a thinning off white - grayish head with some good lacing. Aroma is toasted caramel malts, light munihc, but lots of graphite pencil, woodiness, and oxidized wet paper and cardboard with a good amount of dust and mustiness. Flavor is dirty old mild milk chocolate, nuts, crackery malts, burnt toast, and a drying soy and papery finish. Mouthfeel is a bit weak with a lot of mineral and some metallic and blood-like hints. Meh.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3989) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 27, 2011
Sampled from a 12 oz green bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a small beige head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was perfumey, bitter and tart. The flavor was perfumey, bitter, tart and only mildly malty. The finish was long and perfumey. Medium body. Eh.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Caytinator (577) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - AUG 12, 2012
0.5L bottle. I like bischoff in general, but this is a weak attempt at a schwarzbier. It looks brownish-black in the glass, laces a little bit, and looks ok. Sour was the predominant aroma and taste, cheap. Palate is the weakest part, it’s not really malty or bitter, and doesn’t offer much. It’s not undrinkable, but I don’t think I’d buy it again either.
