Bottle, Knightly Spirits in Orlando. Poured an amber color with a fairly weak off-white head, no lacing, nothing looking dunkel weizen at all. The aroma was apple cider city, some caramel, and some bad caramel or brown sugar or something. Flavor followed and this was like bad candied apple cider. I’d rather bob for wet caramel apples with a bunch of snot ragged 5 year olds than have another one of these watery messes of a dunkel what? Germany should have laws against exporting stuff like this under the premise of beer (ah, maybe they are permitted to brew, exclusively for export to keep it the heck outta the homeland). Boy, I can’t wait for the other bottle of Ur-Weisse (a helles weizen) after this one.

Bottle. Cloudy amber, big fluffy beige head. Fruity, slightly roasted malt aroma, with clear notes of strawberry, and some weak spicy and yeasty notes in the background. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Starts off a bit sweet, but has a dry and earthy finish.

Bottle (screw top)... Clear amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Sweet, malty nose with light maple syrup, delicate spicy phenols and mild fruity esters. Flavor is sweet and malty, but not overly so... hints at caramel. Light to medium-bodied with a whole milk mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. Malty finish.

500ml screwtop bottle: I thought this was a schwarzbier when I bought it and was surprised to smell the typical hefe aroma. Now I learn it is a dunkel weizen. Nice. Poured cola brown with a smallish white head. Nice bubblegum aroma with some overripe bananas. Moderately sweet banana/yeast flavor with a short, short finish. Almost watery in the finish. Still I enjoyed this one.

RerateA little thinner this time around Original 3.3 Knightly Spirits, Orlando, Fl. - 500 ml. bottle with a malt-liquor like screw off top. Sweet, bubblegum like aroma with some bananas poking their head in there as well. Dark copper pour with a very creamy, soft white head with thin lacing. Flavor has hints of chocolate, some banana-like fruitiness and a touch of cake-mix sweet yeastiness. Pretty thick mouthfeel for the style, stays strong to the finish. Overall, pleasantly surprised - best wheat I have had in a while, some complexity and lots of character to this one.

Had this one out of a screwtop bottle. Decent beer, a bit chalky, but still drinkable. I dunno, guess I just expected more out of the selections from this brewery.
