Bottle
Golden, low visible carbonation, quickly dissipating foamy white head.
Fresh aromatic hop aroma on a weakish straw malt base.
Lightbodied straw malt balanced with restrained aromatic hops. Completely dies on me in the exit.

Muted yellow with fortress of a foamy white head. Odd candy aroma, but a nice sweet malty flavor, with a silky feel.

Lightly hazed golden color with a moderate off-white head. Dry malt and dough aromas with a hint of herbal hops and touch of lemongrass. Smooth, with enough eff to keep it interesting. Lightly toasted malt with some dry herbal hops. The bottle is a touch dated, but this held up well. I would wager a fresh sample would bump this up 3 to 4 tenths.

Bottle by 02.02.2013. Grassy and dusty nose reminds of a recent Zoigl. Pale yellow with a rocky bright white head. Very light body. Faint citrus and malt, faint grass, faint everything.

Bottle. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is malty and dryly yeasty, the flavour is deeply bitter and yeasty. Overall an average beer.

(Draught at St. Urho’s on 2008-05-08) Pale and clear. White medium head. Quite fruity and bit hoppy nose. A little bit fizzy palate. Malty and somewhat hoppy taste. Very German beer. Surprisingly strong body.

On tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt. Looks exactly like I’d want it to - clear bright golden yellow with a nice white head fading to a ring. Big hoppy aroma, grassy and grainy. The flavor is solid for the style if not too exciting. Sweet pale malt and grassy hops, fairly bitter and slightly sweet. Medium in body for the style with a crisp and dry mouthfeel. A respectable helles lager in all.

Bottle from Beers of Europe (website). Nice creamy white head, and a slightly cloudy demeanour, otherwise standard lager fare. A rich sweet aroma - obviously lagery. Nice stuff, smooth and citrus to start, quite sweet, with a slight raising of dryness towards the end. A quick crust of bitter, then a long sweet finish. Not complex in the grand scheme, but good for a lager bier, and well balanced and entertaining.

a bit of green apple on the nose, this one, to me at least, is another run of the mill lager.
