COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For our 22oz IPA bottling, we play around a bit. We use the exact same malt profile in each brew, but experiment with different hop varieties. This high alpha hop leaves a clean bitterness and is a good example of grapefruit and pine. Sometimes, we get a little sweet character like pear. This hop is also known as "Tomahawk." Let us know what you think at info@bisonbrew.com Cheers!

(22oz bottle) Medium off-white head atop lightly hazed apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some orange, light pineapple. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pine. Quite bitter, with fairly dry finish. Medium body, light resin. Leaves a nice coating on the tongue.

30-Jun-07 (22-oz bottle: Purchased 09-Apr-07 for $3.75 at Liquid Solutions in Tigard, OR) The beer is golden-amber in color and a bit hazy, but since it’s a little under-carbonated, an aggressive pour is required to yield half an inch of off-white head. A really earthy hop aroma with a hint of vegetal in the nose, but the caramely malt offers nice balance. On the palate, the beer has an earthy hop profile with a bit of resiny bitterness in the finish, and the malts are sweet and fairly caramely. It’s more balanced than the Summit Hop IPA and over time, it shows interesting progression from earthy hop and caramely malt to a more bitter and resiny hop character. Medium in body with medium-minus carbonation. Spotty lacing is tightly packed, but some curtaining effect is visible as well. Overall, nice balance here, and it shows off the hops very well. Good, but not a repeat purchase.

Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of pine resin, pepper. Tastes bitter and dry. Not balanced at all.

Pours a translucent yellow/gold. The head is 1-2 finger creamy light yellow. The aroma has many off characters, peanut shells, band aid, some bitterness is apparent. The flavor shows peanut hulls, mild bitterness, some sweetness, off flavors. Thin mildly biter palate.

2006. 100% Colombus hops edition. Pours a fairly dark amber with some mahogany highlights and a fairly thin head. Hop aroma was fresh and earthy but not too assertive. Straightforward hops in the flavor as well along with a lot of maltiness. A bit of toasted grain, with some light sweetness. Nice body that finishes clean. A very pleasant beer.

bomber into tumbler. Weird light honey brown pour (not gross, but not appealing for an IPA), hazy, but with a big white head that provided great lacing. Aroma is primarily of fresh pine hops and is much more hoppy and pleasant than the flavor, which was almost sour, strangely bitter, and generally out of balance. Medium to light bodied on the palate with a quick finish. Overall: interesting and definitely unique, though not in the best of ways. Not a horrible brew though.

22 ounce bottle at Belmont Station--Poured a gorgeous orange hue with a decent white top. Pungent wet-dog herbal nose with a biscuity resinous bite. Flavor is immediately an assault on the tongue. Thick, razor-sharp bitterness that lingers on and on. I am fine by that, but it kind of kills any other beer you might drink afterwards. Still, not too shabby.

Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Pours a clean deep golden hue with a large foamy head and outstanding lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of resiny and herbal hop, wet biscuity grains, dusty yeast esters and a hint of pepper. The taste is bitter and resiny supported by mild pale malts. The finish displays some spice and some soapy off-tone. The mouth feel is moderate lively and refreshing enough, dry metallic finish. Not too shabby and an improvement over the normal IPA but I still think Organic hop are missing that something special.

This one just showed up from the local BevMo - I liked it. Lits of pine and citrus. Floral, but kind of muted. As they say, a clean bitterness. Unfortunately it has no dankness - which I love in an IPA. This hop is lonely in this ale...and it really shows you how you need the full bouquet of hops to craft the perfect IPA.

got this in a 22oz size bottle. A really pine and fruit taste. Full flavor refreshing IPA. A nice choice.

22oz bottle. Pours a cloudy brilliant orange color with a foamy white head that fades to a film on top of the brew and leaves good lace. Smells like peanuts, and like someone said previously, vegetables. Tastes a bit nutty as well. Also tastes like vegetable pulp, you know, stalks and stuff. SOme citrus in there but definitely in the background. Full bodied, nice active carbonation. Not that great. I bought it 2 days ago from BevMo but maybe its not fresh.?.
